This has been my favorite golf course in the world for years. It is a beautiful and challenging course. I highly recommend it.
By my standards, this is an expensive course, but it was worth the cost. It's absolutely beautiful and was immaculate when I played it. It's short but super challenging...I went through a bunch of balls. My only negative is that the houses are very close to the fairways and they are easy to hit if you slice.
I would have enjoyed the course a lot more if a marshall would have come along and sped up the group in front of us. Fairways and greens were in good shape and some very interesting holes that surprise you if you are not familiar with the course.
Very nice and manicured. Beautiful scenary at high tide. Good way to spend a few hours. I liked the conditions of the greens. Putts very true, unfortunately didn't make many...
Played this on a Friday Morning while a convention was at the Omni resort, so the pace of play was slow, but not unbearable. The golf course was in pretty good shape. I'd rate it about an 8 of 10 as compared to the maintenance. However, it was the views that really made the experience enjoyable! There are 5 holes on the Marsh, and the last 4 holes of the front nine were spectacular inland holes. The only con is the price. However, the price is fairly reasonable in the afternoon, so I recommend playing it then. Special Tip: A local member informed me that it would be worth my while to play the Gold tees on 16. I wont give it away, but I will say that it certainly IS WORTH stepping back and taking the hole in from back there.
Beautiful condition. Fair tee box placement for the ladies, and all levels of player. Elevated greens make shot making a must. Each hole was a picture waiting to happen.
The golf course is well kept. Fairways have some distressed areas from the winter but play well. Very good course design with fair water carries. The greens are excellent, putt true and fairly fast, probably 9 to 10 on the Stimp Meter. You'll enjoy playing the Oak Marsh.
The Oak Marsh course is really nice. We played it twice & really found it well kept, green, challenging & worth playing. One of the nicer courses we've played in FL.
Played this course in 30-mph winds and it was everything you would want. Although the course isn't on the ocean, it may be prettier than the Ocean Links Course. Greens were great! I ca't wait to go back to play it again.
Excellent Pete Dye design. Very pleasing to the eye with combination of tree lined fairways and holes on the Marsh. Not long, but it plays long due to proximity due to the ocean and lack of roll on the fairways. Undersloped at 122 from Blue tees. Clubhouse recently renovated. Staff is very friendly with well stocked pro shop. Restaurant is excellent with beautiful deck overlooking 9th hole and the marsh. The most disappointing aspect of the golf course is it's condition. Turf grass is not in good condition with very tight fairway lies and weed infested tee boxes. The greens were recently rebuilt and are still firm but roll true. I have been playing golf on Amelia Island for 13 years, 10 years as a member of Amelia Island Club. Oak Marsh has always been my favorite layout, but it is in serious need of an upgrade. I hope Omni comes through like they have on the rest of the resort.
This is the inland course of the two at the resort. They share a clubhouse/pro shop/range/putting green. The interior of the clubhouse, pro shop and restaurant have all been recently updated. The exterior is old Florida and a bit tired. The range is very small. It the putting green very large. The course is the easier of the two as there is less ocean wind influencing play. Being a resort, there are too many divots that rude golfers do not repair. In spite of this, there is plenty of fun and adventure built in to the course. Testy greens to putt and challenging to hold with your long approach shots. Well worth a trip to stay and play.
We just completed a week stay on Amelia Island. We played both courses at the Omni Resort, and we did enjoy the Ocean course with its views, but our favorite was the Oak Marsh! this is a Pete Dye design, and it is outstanding. Not too difficult, but it has great old trees lining the fairways and you have to play over the marsh on several holes. we loved it, It is a fair test of golf. the staff inside and outside were very friendly and go out of there way to make your day more enjoyable
Great resort course that we will play again! Not long but it can be challanging. It was in great condition for Labor Day week.
This was the best meal we are there. Wonderful salad options. Lots of variety for a kid. There was something for everyone. Fresh and fantastic was the food. The service was excellent and I am sorry we did not return. Bravo
Well kept and good play. Impossible not to like whatver numbers you might post. . Thank You, Captain Ben Sessions.
