The Pompano Beach Aquatic Center was refurbished and enlarged so that it consists of two pools. There are many activities for all ages as well as team competitions. Sometimes out of state university teams swim there for winter practices and workshops. One of the few pools that I have seen that still have diving boards. Also heated. Very inexpensive $1.50 for Pompano Beach Residents.

For years Pompano only had aa couple of small public pools, but when they built the currant Aquatic Center they did a great job.I attend water aerobic classes there 3 times a week and after class I swim in the large pool with lanes for at least 10 swimmers. Entry fees are very reasonable, parking is plentiful and the classed are fun as well as beneficial.

This location is great to learn how to swim; it's for all ages and swimming ability. There is diving, DEEP pools (to 15') and lanes for doing laps. The pool is very energetic, as there are so many different activities going on at the same time in multiple pools. We had 2 scuba classes, 2 training classes for emergency swimming for kids, and adults doing laps in another area, and lastly, a red cross life guard class in another area. Truly a massive pool for all ages and abilities for swimming. No food or drinks that I saw around the pool, so you might want to bring food if you wish to eat or drink.
