mills riverside park

Mills Riverside Park is a wonderful place to hike, relax, snowshoe, cross country ski, walk your dogs, play football, soccer, or any other game. It also has a pavillion for special occasions. It is conveniently located off of route 15 with plenty of parking. To be safe, do not leave valuables in view in your car. There have been some thefts recently. All in all, it's a great place to go!

This park has many things to offer if you don't have the time for an all day hike on Mt. Mansfield.Start by parking in the large parking lot outside of the park, then pass through a real covered bridge to several acres of open playing fields. There is a post and beam covered shelter that hosts live music in the summer and can be rented for events. Nearby is a large pond for fishing and an off leash dog area next to the river. Mountain bikes and horses can sometime be found on the several trails in the woods. Easy hikes of a mile or so make their way along side the hills within the park. Trails are wide and generally in good condition though there will always be some muddy spots. The eastern edge of the park has one of the best views of Vermonts highest mountain, Mt. Mansfield, in the area. If you are in the area, this should be on your list of places to see.

This is an all-around nice spot for picnicking, easy trail walks, and cross-country skiing. It's large enough and varied enough so there never appears to be crowded, and it is scenically located next to a gently-flowing stream. Great for bird-watching or any peaceful pastime.
