Decided to give Okemo a try for the first time after skiing most of the major ski areas in Vermont. It located just off the main road in Ludlow. The staffThere was extremely helpful and friendly. The mountain is a nice size but has an awkward base area setup where you must take the lower easier lifts to get to the main lift. The 6 pass bubble lift with heated seats is the best chair I have every been on. Only complaint is that there is too much grooming where the slopes are flat as a street.

The trails were in great condition. Surprised to find the lift lines were short on Sunday. We skied all day and had a wonderful time.

Fun and friendly mountain. People working there are nice. Lots of runs and variety. And…great food, loved the chocolate chip cookies. And the workers were actually caring just how good our hot chocolate was.

Ok well I'm a bit of a Colorado Ski snob, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this mountain. I had three days of skiing. I would say the mountain conditions were very good. My only complaint would be how wet of a cold I felt. The last day we had blue skies and it was a bit warmer, all the runs were groomed nicely and there were plenty of long runs. The Blues are not as difficult as Telluride or Breckenridge but they aren't wimpy either. If I weren't afraid of ice I would have probably tired the blacks. I just didn't trust the mountain being it was my first time there and the visibility wasn't that great most days. Well worth a try if you live on the East Coast. It was beautiful.

packed powder skiing in March....wow....great mountain with friendly staff and the new bubble covered seat headed six person lift makes it fun to get to top of mountain without wind chaffed face.

Quick spring break ski trip. Got to mountain about 30 min before first lift. Easy parking. Easy ticketing. Main lodge not fancy but very functional. Skiing was fantastic. They have a 6-person lift with heated seats and a plexi-bubble. That was nice. We are mainly intermediate skiers and had lots of terrain to choose from. Our more adventuresome son really enjoyed the terrain parks and the super pipe. That was fun just watching. Would definitely consider coming back.

Had a chance to ski Okemo for the first time in a number of years. I stopped visiting the resort because I thought the layout was congested, and a lack of steeper terrain. Well things have changed. With the addition of a six seat bubble chair that also has heated seats, the uphill capacity is greatly improved.Once at the top of the "Bubble Chair" other lifts and terrain are easily accessible.Jackson Gore also had some nice mogul runs with natural snow that were challenging. The general feel of the mountain is a family resort with lots of kids on the mountain and familiesenjoying the outdoors. Prices are reasonable for lifts and food options. The mountain also has a number of condos available. Save some money and book two rows back from the slope. Your not ski in ski out, but a 50 yard walk is pretty easy. Not much at the mountain other than a cafeteria and two pubs, but town is a 5 minute drive down the hill. Think of a kinder gentler Killington without the nightlife options.

Spring break trip (from Texas) ended up at Okemo for a couple of days. Beautiful setting, great snow, fantastic instructors, attentive employees and easily manageable lift lines. Everyone, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was kind and friendly. Even a stop by the First Aid station (minor shoulder injury) was pleasant and sincere in their service orientation.

I come up here every February for a long weekend guys trip. I have skied most of the mountains and this is my favorite. The runs are long and the chair lifts are fast. All of the lodges are unique. Great food and entertainment. The drink menus are great. So many hot cocktail concoctions. We always have great conditions every year. Saturdays and Sundays are busy, but they move the crowds through the lifts as fast as they can. The new six person lift with the orange dome is awesome! I can't wait for next year!

We have been here many times since it is only about a 4 hour ride from northern NJ or NYC. It has a great variety of trails and facilities on the mountain and is well maintained. Best of all it is not as crowded as Killington. On the down side, there are not many activities/restaurants nearby for evenings.

Okemo is a fun mountain to ski on! We would definitely go there again soon. A little crowded at the clock tower lodge, but manageable.

A very family friendly mountain. Great and varied terrain for skiing. As someone previously stated, take it to the top and find a nice easy gentle way down or challenge yourself. All trails are clearly marked. This is an easy on easy off mountain from start to finish. Shuttles run with limited or no waiting. I promise you will have a great time. Take sunburst 6 all the way up!!! Enjoy your ride!

Over the years I have been to Okemo more times than I can count. I experienced a couple of disturbing things there last weekend. The first was the sight of a uniformed security guard on patrol. This may seem like a good thing to some people but it indicates to me that there has been trouble there. I am all for security but in this setting plain clothes would be the way to go. Then there was the rude Ski Patrol employee I encountered on one of the slopes. I had a friend with me who had never before been on skis. He is 57 and I would give him credit even for trying. Predicably he spent a lot of time falling. He had just fallen again and was attempting to get himself sorted out when a Ski Patrol person passed by and rudely instructed him to "move out of the way". Remember he had just fallen and was attempting just that. I have been skiing for 40 years and have never encountered such a rude resort employee. I am old school and I remember the "code". That was back in the days you didn't need a starter at the lift because people were courteous and knew how to act. I haven't in recent times noticed a Ski Patrol person talking to anyone about moving to the side of the trail. It is common for large groups of snowboarders (and skiers) to sit in the middle of the trail just hanging out. Having one comment rudely and shake his head in disgust without even checking to see if the soon to be senior citizen on the ground was hurt just blows my mind. I think I need to look at other areas to spend my money.

I am an intermediate skier and was looking for a Vermont ski station to go to with my family. I had heard good things about Okemo but had never been. The first day was so cold and windy I just couldn't see that we would be able to enjoy ourselves. I girded my nerves and asked reception if perhaps I could move our tickets to the next day, expecting alot of attitude and push-back. The answer, no problem, but why don't we just try out the mountain for an hour or so and see how it is, and then if it is too much, come back and the tickets will be moved. We did, but it was too cold and they kept their word. Wow, no attitude on a ski slope. Then the next day we were up on the slope and when we went up to the map at the summit (there are maps all over which makes life really easy) there was a ski-patrol guy there who asked about our skiing and suggested some great trails. Everyone was so nice and hospitable it was almost weird but we loved it. The food is more than decent, especially at Epic (but please don't expect the meal of your life as some reviewers have complained, it is just much better than expected, solid food good, served with pleasure.)The restaurants in town and the area were also very good and worth exploring. We rented our skis off the slope and it worked very well.

After a morning of skiing, we took the complimentary shuttle bus to the Okemo Valley Golf Club, where we rented snow shoes for just $10. The gentleman was helpful at the shop. The tour was awesome. We snowshoed in over a foot of fresh snow through the golf course and along a stream in the woods. It was so beautiful and refreshing. No people, no noise, just us. I highly recommend it for families and friends. There was no time limit either.
