It was an awesome experience and a lot of fun - well worth the expense. (Remember to tip your guide!) I went with my 15 year old son, and he said it was one of the coolest things he's ever done - high praise from a teenager - and fun for me as the parent, too! We had new machines, had an individualized tour that catered to our interests and driving ability, and had a great experience. Highly recommended! Our guide was Tito - he was great!
We were skiing and snowboarding the whole week so we decided to make a one day break and relax the muscles. We have decided to try snowmobiling since our 4 year old noticed a mini snowmobile at the Ramshead lodge while at the ski school. Easy going environment, friendly people, we were well prepared and dressed in special boots and helmets. They provide us with an information video prior to getting on the snowmobile. Thank you to our guide TITO for bring patient with me, I was the slowest one lol :)
We were hesitant to spend the money as in the past with other operators we would be in a long line with different skill levels and move at a snail's pace. When we called and spoke with Klaus, we shared our concern and he had my son (16) and I go out with Tito. What a blast. Tito showed us an awesome day on practically new machines. Great time and would recommend this company and Tito as your guide. Can't wait to go back!
We love doing one or two hour snowmobile tours each year whenever we go to VT and none compares to this one. The trails are perfect, the state forest is beautiful, the vistas are fantastic, the sleds are new and the people/guides are professional and polite etc. they nail it.My suggestion though is that two hour tours are a bit much for a passenger on the back. Either get two sleds or ask the guide to let you swap off driving a bit. On our tour the women were given 30 mins in the middle to drive at a slower pace all at the same time. We asked for that and guide was great about it. Not at all a sexist comment just reality that passengers are mostly women who want to try it but are leery. One hour tour is likely a better option for a passenger who wont drive situation.
We had planned a snowmobile trip to Vermont quite awhile ago and we sure were not disapointed. We signed up for the 2 hour tour at 1pm. We arrived early after our drive from NJ and were quickly asked if we wanted to go on the 12pm tour. We initially wanted just one snowmobile to share as a couple but my girlfriend is so happy we decided to rent her own. She loved it! After about 10 minutes she got the hang of it and was cruising along. The scenery and ride through the local area is incredible and beautiful. 2 hours however felt like 30 minutes and we wished it didn't end.The equipment is new and easy to handle. The staff was very friendly and we felt very welcome. The tour was fun and the guide patient yet allowed us to run at a varying pace throughout the tour. We highly recommend for anyone looking for a great adventure. The 2 hour tour is the way to go!
A group of us elected to go snowmobiling while we visited Killington this past weekend. The staff were friendly and the tour was awesome! Great conditions and our guide was understanding to our varying experience with snow machines. Would absolutely do it again! The only negative is that when we called to make a reservation, there was no mention of the deposit policy. We were just told to bring cash or card for payment. When we arrived, however, we saw signage and were then told that unless you pay a $20 non-refundable fee per machine, you must sign and agree to a refundable $750 damage deposit in case something happens to the machine while you are on your tour (one $750 fee per group, not per person). Only one of us had brought a card as we all intended to pay with cash. I luckily had my debit card, but was hesitant to use it since there would be a hold for "3 business days". The girl at the register assured me that if I went to my bank on Monday and shared with them the receipt I was given that showed that it was just a hold - not a charge - that they would release the hold. However, when I went to my bank yesterday, I was told that this was incorrect. I followed-up with Snowmobile Vermont who didn't really apologize for the misinformation, but did tell me the hold on my card was going to be more like 5-7 business days versus the 3 business days I was originally told. So, here I am, not knowing how long $750 of my real money is going to be on hold and this could have easily been avoided had the person I first made reservations with clued me in on this policy. It should absolutely be shared on their website and when making a reservation so that not only are guests aware but also prepared by bringing a credit card or something to cover this stiff fee. While this was a big bummer and I'm highly disappointed about this aspect of our experience, it was still a great time and we would definitely go again - just more prepared next time!
Our group of 12 decided to try snowmobiling... and it was sooooooooo much fun!! The staff and the tour guides at the place are all so nice, friendly, and helpful! The ride itself is just amazing and beautiful! If you are not afraid of the cold and are looking for some outdoor fun, I will strongly recommend trying this out!
Our family went on a two hour back country ride and had a blast. Noah was an awesome tour guide he showed us all around the trails. We were extremely happy to have our very own tour. We were told during the week was probably the best time to go since weekends were fairly busy. A definite must when in the area.
Great tour with plenty of challenge for a first timer. Make sure to ask for Sam - he was awesome and took my son out with him. Highly recommended!
Visited Killington over weekend of Jan 24 & 25 and had an awesome experience snowmobiling. Our first day we had Rob as our guide and he was great at showing us the trails and giving us tips for maximum enjoyment! Second day we did a full day rental and took them out on our own which was so much fun! Owner on premises is very helpful!
What a great time. A wonderful two hour back country tour. Our guide Noah was really great!! They keep the groups small (4 snow mobiles per guide) which makes it easier to handle. Would definitely do this again. Great friendly service from check in to leaving.
First time ever snowmobiling but we were made to feel welcome and felt well looked after. You have to watch a safety video before bring allowed to ride so felt very safe and prepared, plus they provided boots and helmets. There hadn't been much snowfall when we went but these guys made the most of what was around and took us on a pretty route with various inclines, straights turns etc - our instructor was great and obviously knew the area well. Even stopped for photos with the mountains in the background! A great experience.
My husband and son truly enjoyed their Snowmobile Tour. It was absolutely freezing out and they made it through the 2 hour Tour. They suggest you rent the full snowmobile suit. You are provided with Helmets and Boots if you need them. Their guide Rich was great! And it was awesome seeing the moose. Will do this again, and I will go too, on a warmer day.
What a great time! Took the hour long tour and based on the group was expecting a pretty tame trail ride like we had experienced at other outfits. Our guide Ty (chopsticks) split from he pack ahead of us and took us on a different set of trails where we could really enjoy the trails differently than the families with small children. It worked out great and we'd definitely go back for the 2 hour tour to explore some more. This is definitely worth doing.
My husband and I had a great time on this ride. I've never ridden snowmobiles before and he hadn't been on one in years. We had a blast and our tour guide was great.
