What a beautiful place to walk and relax. The lake was frozen and you could walk on it, well...far. You can play ,walk and run...A lot people with there dog and children have fun. Beautiful place to enjoy few minute or afternoon and see the lake and the mountain in the back. So take a minute or ....and enjoy it !!
We came to see the lake. It was frozen solid! Even being completely frozen with people walking all over it it was still beautiful. I recommend checking it out!
Great to get a gorgeous view of the sun setting over the Adirondacks across the lake! It was freezing when we went and yet there were several people who had come to photograph the spectacular sunset.
It was a really pretty view over the lake, and a nicely done path. Swinging benches, greenery, even a beach. I liked watching the boats sail out of the breakwater.
Sit in a swinging bench, watch the sunset, get in some great people watching, bring a picnic /dinner or grab a bite to eat at any number or restaurants within walking distance to the waterfront. Even in the cold weather the waterfront is fabulous.
This is my favorite place to walk along Lake Champlain. Views are 10 star, there is a boathouse to visit and have dinner, boats to take cruises around the lake leave from here; ECHO educational center has tons of information about the lake, and children's exhibits, a boardwalk with swings to cruise, a small park with a fishing pier is just north of the boardwalk, and then at the northside of the fishing pier is the famous Lake Champlain Sailing Center, where you can rent boats to sail, take lessons, sailing camps, etc. In the spring this area is filled with blooming pear trees, and rhododentrons. There is a huge grassy area for small games and picnics. The bike path is on the east side. For sunsets, you will find you will keep coming back here, day after day, as the sunsets differently every night. Just behind the waterfront are a deli with the best creemees, and the skinny pancake for a delightful change in your normal restaurant experience, and the Splash at the boathouse. A small stand serves hotdogs and ice cream. You can pick up the bike path and go north to two wonderful beaches and ultimately the bridge that takes you to Colchester and the path all the way to the the bike ferry, and the islands....and Montreal. Runners love being her, as well as winter snow shoeing. There is just nothing as beautiful anywhere else as our waterfront parks, bike path, boardwalk, sailing and boating, ice skating. Great for all, including handicap and wheelchairs. Easy to just sit for hours and listen to the water and read, and bring a picnic.
We went after going to the Echo Lake Aquarium. There are some great sunset view and if you are a photo-enthusiast like my wife is, you will enjoy taking pictures as the light changes quickly during the setting of the sun. We had some great color in the sky and with the water forefront and mountain backdrop made for very dramatic pics.
This is THE one place you want to take in the sights when you ar in Burlington. During anytime of the year its lovely, but the summer, that just takes the cake.
Walking around Burlington and down by the lake in the fall is fantastic. The path through the park and along the lake is fabulous, as the multi colored leaves fall from the trees and you can see across the lake to the Adirondack Mountains.
Great views and pretty. Easy walk for the shopping area to the waterfront. Wish we had more time to spend here.
Take a walk or a bike ride-rentals right on the waterfront and enjoy the the view of the lake. You will get chance to see and hear what is on the waterfront and sorrounding area. There are plenty of restaurants and there is ECHO museum.
Afternoon on the lakefront was relaxing, enjoyable and beautiful. The park is clean and well maintained. The view is spectacular and it's a nice change from the church street congestion.
We were on a women's bus trip to Vermont which of course included a lot of shopping and eating. We discovered the Waterfront Park a short distance from the downtown. It was a warm day but overcast. We walked along the boardwalk and docks and then ventured up to Battery Park for a beautiful view of the lake, fall colours and distant mountains. The park is lovely and construction was underway to extend the walking path. it will be even better when I return again. The park is close to downtown where there is food, washrooms and other amenities.
We visited and strolled along the waterfront. Well maintained area. Good family atmosphere and nice views of the lake. Good way to relax and enjoy the view.
Go there for the Grand Point North festival every September. It's quaint, relaxing and beautiful. If you get a chance, go here to see the sunrise or sunset over Lake Champlain!
