I have been going here for years. They do it all: facials/mani-pedi's/massages/waxing/hair care. Popular place for brides on Saturdays. One time they comped my manicure, because they were doing construction. Staff changes are about average with the industry. I've had great technicians and fair ones.

Salon one has a very nice atmosphere and when you check in they are always pleasant and offer you water or soda pop. yes they are more expensive than the haircut in a box stores where you never know who you will get or whether you will have any hair left afterwards! At salon One I see Adam who always gives a consistent professional haircut each time. Also they off a mini- facial which actually feels quite relaxing. my wife and teenage daughter also go here and get hair and nails done and have always been pleased. I would recommend trying it!

Have been going to Salon One for about a year. I love the Aveda products and have always gotten a nice haircut and style. They are a little more expensive than I typically like to pay...

Square One offers the promise of an Aveda concept salon, but does not deliver effectively. The cuts I've received are average and the 'value added services' such as scalp massage were not offered. I no longer frequent the salon, but have found an alternative I like better.

Nice atmosphere, with acceptable pricing. Stylist skill for your hair, as usual varies by individual stylist. However, I have never had a BAD cut at either location (downtown or centerville), and I have had plenty over the years as a girl with wavy/ curly thick hair a lot of stylist just have no idea how to cut correctly. All that said, I will say that BETH at the Downtown location is still my favorite. I would recommend her for anyone with curly hair (she herself is a curly girl). I also prefer the more urban look of the downtown location. But both locations blend well with their settings in typical draw of clientele.

I wanted to provide insight into the Aveda Salon in Centerville, Ohio (Square One). I arrived to the location 15 minutes early (2:45pm) on 9/27/2012 for my appointment with Gena. I checked in with the reception desk. I was shown the waiting area and was told that she would be with me shortly. I waited ONE HOUR and decided to let the receptionist that I would be leaving as I was tired of waiting. I walked up to the desk. The girl said hello and asked my name. I told her and said I was leaving because I was tired of waiting. She looked in the computer and said I had been checked in, but Gena was not going to be in and did I want to reschedule? Seriously??????? I was shocked and said no. She said they tried to call me earlier, but did not leave a message (again..seriously..no message?) I can not pick up at work, so a message would have been the appropriate measure. I thought this would be a high end salon and would be treated well. VERY EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I had made the appointment on Monday for a Thursday. They had left a message on Tuesday verifying the appointment. Why not leave a message to let me know that Gena decided not to go to work...why check me in and make me wait an hour (longer if I had not gone down to the desk I would imagine. Again....disappointment does not even cover the experience I had. To bad..you missed out on what could have been a long term customer not to mention the potential customers that I will share this experience with.

Took better half there for a mani and pedi, professional atmostphere, very clean and very warm welcome. Kind of pricey but you pay for what you get. I will be back

square one is by far my favorite salon in dayton. i have been going there for nearly three years for all sorts of services (hair cut, color, massage, nails) - i even had my hair and makeup for my wedding done there. erica is my favorite stylist - i highly recommend her!only one time have i been unhappy with a service there. i let the manager know and they took care of the problem beautifully. the owner of the salon even called me to be sure i has been properly taken care of. i believe this speaks to their attention to detail and their dedication to making their clients look and feel great.
