Camp Hi is a fun place to spend an afternoon. They offer different length trips. We went on a 7 mile canoe trip. You stop in at Camp Hi, register, get your equipment and hop on a bus which takes you to the drop off point. You then row back to the camp where your car is parked. The river is calm and slow. Easy even for a beginner. Our family of 5 (3 canoes) cost $117. It took us around 3 hours to do the 7 miles. Employees were friendly and helpful. Good time. We would do it again.
We went to Camp Hi for my son's first canoe trip. We all enjoyed the scenic and calm river on a lovely August afternoon.
Thank you Camp Hi for an amazing afternoon. My wife and I spent the day canoeing down the Cuyahoga River on a beautiful fall afternoon. The employees were very friendly and I thought it was worth every penny. I would highly recommend a fall trip when the leaves are changing.
It was a little slow getting our kayaks onto the hauler and the up the river but it was busy on Labor Day. We chose the 10 mile single kayak trip which should take about 4-5 hours to complete. We were going to take a small cooler to eat lunch but we were told there was no where to pull off and eat. The river was very slow, no current in 90% of the river, so if you chose to Kayak 10 miles make sure you understand you will have to paddle the entire way in calm water. There were several places to pull off in the woods, in little spots, not quite picnic capable but big enough to step off the kayak and eat real quick. We finished the 10 miles in about 3.5 hours. There are grills, pavilions and tables at the livery for eating before or after kayaking.
This is not a bad livery. They are good people and have been here for many many years. The river is a great beginners river scenic and slow. Prices are reasonable. Just to be fair you should know I have my own canoe and have fished this river with some regularity. It is worth the money for the ride up river and renting the canoe.
Safe scenic place to learn how to canoe. If you've never done it before this is a good place to start and learn. It is a very slow river that is only a few feet deep. Good scenery. Nice staff.
