char-mar ridge preserve

My wife and I like to hike and this park provides and very nice location with reasonable hills for hiking through a wooded area. The park is not far to travel from the city, but is still a quiet uncrowded place to hike.

A beautiful circular walk in the park with some rolling gravel paths. Moderate. Stop at the lookout to see the hidden pond. Great for dog walking. You must be able to go up and down sets of stairs.

This is a very nice, quiet little park/path. There appeared to be restrooms, but not much else. The path was gravel and dirt. But again, it was very quiet and worth the trip to just switch things up.

The Preserve is a good way to spend a morning or afternoon getting back to nature. You might decide to spend the day if your bring lunch.Char-Mar Ridge Preserve is a Delaware County Preservation Park. These parks are some neat sites to visit. Char-Mar is small and tidy. It has a small parking area with modern bathrooms. There is a 1.7 mile walking/hiking trail that includes a bird blind to observe ducks on a man-made reservoir. The trail isn't strenuous but I recommend good shoes. You may take a sturdy stroller but I'd recommend carrying small children that cannot make the entire walk. My 3YO walked about 3/4 mile before insisting I carry him in the backpack carrier.
