beavers bend white water canoe & kayak rentals

I called to ask about hours and cost. The lady who answered the phone was rude, bordering on hateful. She answered all questions with very short answers and a curt tone. We will not be using this company if this was an example of their customer service.

We randomly feel upon this kayak rental website, and we are so glad we did! We had an awesome time. First, the staff was super friendly and very knowledgable about the water conditions, different paths and made us feel really comfortable. The equipment was perfect for our needs. We used one double kayak and a single. The nice guy in the office (I think owner) let us borrow a cooler and helped strap it down. I would say, the day we went, the river was good for a beginner/ low intermediate or anyone looking to have a nice peaceful ride down the river. We did have our son with us, so we weren't looking for white water rafting. We flipped once - but the kayak was easy to turn back over - and luckily, again the wise owner, nicely suggested we leave our car keys in the office, so it was a refreshing, fun experience... rather than a "oh no" my keys were in that kayak. The best part of the river was the turtles - there were 100s (not exaggerating) turtles sun-bathing as we strolled down. OH SIDE NOTE - There is one beach area, past the rock garden - it looks like a beach, it's a great place to stop. We stopped right before it for lunch, but wish we had waited. There is also some rope swings along the way we saw people using.The place were we tipped was at the very end. The last little leg, picked up and another set of tubers had crashed, which caused us to try to maneuver around, and well crash too. Nobody was hurt, but we were just saying how "peaceful the second part was" so know there is one little fast part at the end (nothing advanced) just remember it's there.Luckily, it was right at the end though, within five minutes we were at the end and the guys were waiting to take us back to the top. The best part, and what really makes this place stand out - besides the staff, is the facilitates. - They have (old fashion) pull shower stalls for after you finish the trip, with bathrooms attached. SO you can shower and change before getting back in your cars. We were heading home (DFW) afterwards so this was greatly appreciated.We will totally be back! And, we will be using this place again. Thanks for helping us have an awesome day, with great memories. We really enjoyed your place and loved seeing the river.
