Halloween!!! We had so much fun with the candy and wine pairing. OK, not conventional, but a cute tribute to the day. We're candy lovers, the wine stole the show! Couldn't resist the Druid's Fluid and their Chardonnay. All full of flavor, tasty and not too sweet. The view out the giant window while you're tasting is beautiful, hills, vineyards and clouds! The grounds are charming.
Great stop not only for a tasting, but also the beauty of the place. Walk around and enjoy! Try the troop fluid, that was my favorite one. They have a nice cheese tray too.
We visited Troon on a Friday with Wine Hopper Tours. It was fantastic! Tiffany was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. She really knew her wines! She was very personable as well. We purchased wine which she was personally shipping to us as we live across the country from them! Had a blast, great winery tour, great wine, and great people! Would definitely go back!
Skip the others and go here. Great reds especially. Alaska air will ship your Oregon wine by the case free (with you on the filght). Beautiful winery and tasting room.
Excellent wine!! We tasted a large variety of wine and they were all super! We purchased multiple bottles of the Vermentino, which was my favorite of the bunch. Another favorite of mine was the Druids fluid red. The wine is reasonably priced. I wished they shipped to MA! Troon is absolutely beautiful and the staff is so nice! I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area!
Great place, great wine, so relaxing. Will stop again as the staff was very friendly and didn't rush us through. Parking was a bit tight so I do see a need for improvement given the number of customers that stopped by.
On our first visit about 6 months ago we were mesmerized by the wine, beautiful location and friendly staff. The wines are very good and reasonably priced. The people working the place are some of the nicest in the valley and the grounds are wonderful. Great place to relax and tip a few but not too much-curvy roads to and from but a pleasant drive. We are now members and hope to visit more often. Highly recommended stop if you are in the area!
Visiting Troon Vineyard in The Applegate Valley is a must for anyone wanting a great experience and wonderful wines! The friendliness of the staff and tasting room attendants were the best. They also have high quality wines at a great price. Also, "Throttle", the wine dog, is an experience in itself. He was my highlight! A HUGE Great Dane that looks like a Dalmation! We have wine tasted for many years and rank Troon as one of our favorite places to stop as well as some of our favorite wines. They also have a very reasonable tasting fee.
When we were putting our winery tasting list together, my dad's wife put this one first on the list. She had Druid Fluid on the brain. We went and my boyfriend and I walked away with a case of wine. The location of the place is great. Surrounded by hill tops and vines.
Troon has been in the wine world in the Applegate Valley since 1972 and was here before all others that have recently arrived other than maybe Valley View Winery. Some old vines and new vines give this winery the diversity to make exquisite wines. Vertical, Estate Zin are some of the best, but the more affordable Druid Fluids and Founder's Zin are not far off. With nothing to compare it to you will be glad with any choice made at this vineyard. The grounds, the giant chess game, and the ambience make for a great afternoon or evening with friends, family, and other.
Complimentary and large tasting as we walked in. Generous tastings otherwise, great personalities behind the counter and enjoyable wines. Huge outdoor chess, Bocci and more to be enjoyed as you wander with your wine
This winery was a great find in Southern Oregon. They have beautiful grounds, great vistas, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the star of course is their great wines. They have a large assortment of wines and they offer free shipping to anywhere in the U.S.. The other wineries we visited that day would not ship their wines east of California. We bought two cases of a variety of reds and dessert wines. Hands down, the best is Druids Fluids. Strange name but it is a blend of reds very rich without being to serious. Loved the wine, the people and this beautiful winery!
We were staying in the Rouge River area and wanted to check out some Wineries and drove out into the country to Troon... Glad we did! Really nice View and a Great "Italy" style Winery. They also have very friendly staff that made us feel right at home. I love a sweeter wine and the Semi-Sparkling White was perfect. Also tried other wines and fell in love with the "Druid's Fluid" too. Plus as soon as we walked in, there was a framed photo of "Gordon Ramsey" and the owners of Troon. Gordon had visted the winery just a month before on June 4th with his family...Couldn't of had a better experience. Worth the trip, and a must visit place.
The staff went above and beyond. We had a big group of family including kids. The chef, Walt, brought them out strawberries and whip cream and a bowl of chips to keep them occupied while we tasted the wine. The girls that were giving us the wine samples were very knowledgeable about what they were pouring. We had a great time here, both the kids and adults. We ended up buying 3 cases of wine and vowing to come back again.
We took off one day for an easy tour of one of the wine growing regions of Southern Oregon. We left Grants Pass Oregon and within 15 minutes were driving in the picturesque Applegate Valley. It was a warm early November day and we had set out to enjoy the Fall foliage. On a whim we stopped at the Troon Vineyard to sample some of their wines. The window behind the counter of the new tasting room gave us a view of a portion of their vinyard where clusters of dark purple grapes were still hanging. Jennifier was our sommelier and guided us through a sampling that included the usual varietals. The wines were all very good and I confessed to her that I had a weakness for blended wines. We tasted their wine called Druid's Fluid which the winery dubbed "Their great mistake". It was excellent with all the flavor of real wine and not the overpowering sweetness of a "pop" wine. We left with 10 bottles including a seasonal sweet wine that is served warmed. They had a beautiful garden where we might have enjoyed our wine but chose to take our bounty home and finish our Fall tour. It was a very wonderful trip.
