This winery is only one hour from downtown Portland and is nestled in the rolling hills of Yamhill. It is well worth the drive. The tasting flight is great--all excellent Pinots.Worth the drive for the wonderful scenery and great tastes.
Well worth the visit. They have a great wine tasting room and amazing views to take in at the same time.
This place is so surprising from the moment you park your car till you select from their wines! The staff is friendly but also knowledgeable and helpful. The facility is beautiful with views in every direction. I'll be back.
My parents live in the Pearl District in Portland and whenever we visit we make a stop out to WillaKenzie Estate. The cooler climate is wonderful for the Pinot grapes and produces some of the best Pinot Noirs in the Willamette Valley. The tasting fee is reasonable and is waived if you buy some wine.
We were there for Memorial Day weekend so even though it was very busy they were very friendly and took their time with us. Some of the other places we went were not as welcoming but they let us stay and linger, re-try a few and answered every question we had, never making us think they had better things to do
WillaKenzie Estate is a beautiful property in the Yamhill Carlton AVA (American Viticultural Area). It is worth visiting just for the view. In addition, they make award winning wines so you will enjoy your tasting experience and on some days they give tours of the winery which is quite interesting to see. This place is worth a stop on an Oregon Wine Country Tour!
Sampling wine at WillaKenzie tasting room was a great experience. We enjoyed personalized service, a tour with a full explanation plus insightful answers to our questions. The setting is awesome. We received wonderful recommendations for a scenic drive that was breath-taking. Highly recommended visit.
I was on a whirlwind tour of the region and Willakenzie was recommended as the place to go since I didn't have time to visit many estates. I wasn't disappointed. The location is beautiful. The tasting room was very nice and had a great view. The staff was friendly and truly enjoyed discussing the wine and the operations. It was a great experience.
This place is pretty special. The porch/balcony overlooking the vineyards is so cool. Makes the whole experience just that much better. Now adding great wine to this, made this place on the top of our list of places we visited. Staff was great and even with a bunch of people tasting the place did not seem crowded.
definitely make sure WillaKenzie is on your list of wineyards to visit in Oregon. not only are the wines great and the facilities beautiful, but the staff there is so welcoming and friendly!
The VIP tour was worth it. Behind the scenes at the winery was interesting and informative. The tasting was generous and delicious. A great way to start our wine country visit.
They are very near to us and we used to go more often so I can't say we have been recently. They do, however, have a wonderful large tasting room and many great wines and a nice seating area outdoors to enjoy the fantastic view of our beautiful valley.
The tasting room is very cool - bright and open with a huge outdoor area. The wines were really good and the staff were very knowledgeable. Even though they were pretty busy, they never made us feel rushed and let us take all the time we needed. We left with 4 bottles of wine and a wine club membership. So, you can see we really liked it!
The wine and view are great. A somewhat crowded tasting room made for a less than pleasurable experience. We took some friends for their first visit and were quite horrified by the one worker with scary earrings and heavy mascara. She was simply unfriendly and an embarrassment. Go for the view and the wine and hope somebody else serves you.
Sherry the tasting room manager was wonderful. Willakenzie is our favorite Pinot Noir and they are the main reason my wife and I started drinking Oregon Pinot Noirs. We had the opportunity to meet the wine maker, Thibaud. Everyone at the estate was very nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, we came during a time where we could not enjoy the view from the vineyards. It was extremely foggy as you can tell from our pictures. We ended up joining their wine club because the range of different tastings we were able to sample. Definitely join their wine club if you are a big pinot drinker as you get a deep discount on what you would pay retail and their wines are top notch. Did I mention that we got a free wine bag?
