ely's central theater

This theater is awesome and the locals running it put in a lot of care and heart. Recently updated and restored digital and amazing sound ...picture is crystal clear and the ambiance is one of a kind. My daughter loves it!! A great night out and not very expensive! So glad to know it is locally owned and operated by a family investing in Ely's future! !!

Many people complain because the theater shows one movie nightly, and the same movie for a week. Hence, the newer ones get a bit backed up. However, prices are cheaper than big city tickets, you get be in probably the oldest movie theater you've ever been in that's still going today, and you get support the community. Speaking of community, the theater does many events for kids and for adults, showing special matinees or late night movies (not THOSE kind of late night movies) usually just to give the people here something to do. If you're visiting and need to something to do at night besides bar hop (you won't be hopping much here), check out the theater. Their actively updated Facebook page keeps you updated on special events. Its a better experience than a giant theater in the city, I feel like.
