Been coming to Vegas for several years now with 12 to 16 friends. Golf comes first! We always include the Primm Desert Course for one of our stops for the week we are here. Beautifully kept up, fantastic views of the mountains and a truly fair track to play for all skill levels. It really helps if you have a slight draw off the tee! The ball rolls for miles! Like they say "Nothing rolls like a ball! " is quite true here. Staff from pro shop to grounds crew were helpful, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to serve. We will keep this destination on our list for as long as we keep this tradition going. There are a lot of options for golf in Vegas, make sure you make Primm Desert one of them!

We set this trip up on GolfNow. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, which is part of the fun. There is a humongous solar farm right next door, and you are in the middle of the desert and butted right up agains the mountains. Pretty windy, so do some layering with your clothes at this time of year. If you aren't on the fairway or green, the course will gobble up your balls. So, bring plenty of extras. Had to rent one set of clubs at $55, which is ok, but the clubs weren't all that great. Can't say much for the restaurant/bar, because there was a golf outing of about 80 people that day, and they were consuming everything before we got off 18. Make the short drive into Primm and go to GP's for a great steak dinner afterwards. It is worth the drive from Vegas.

Hey, golf course is in the middle of the desert... It is an oasis in and of itself.Bar staff is very friendly. Although a bit expensive.

It's always a treat to play golf on a well maintained course hosted by a great staff! The Primm Valley Desert golf course meets and exceeds expectations based on conditions, layout and complexity for every skill level. Tee boxes are strategically placed to introduce challenges based on distance and desert hazards coupled with generous landing areas and expertly placed bunkers and just enough water to make for an interesting golf experience! Greens were well manicured and the roughs were challenging rendering a missed fairway an exciting experience! Pace of play was about expected based on a busy Monday morning. We were pleased with the staff attention to detail and their friendly reception through closing comments! We will return and look forward to another challenging day in the desert!

Ok I'm from Las Vegas, I love the lakes a favorite of mine, but the desert course has a lot to be desired. First no grass, are you kidding me? Second lots of grass on the greens not sure when they mowed them last, horrible bumpy, aeration holes, ugh. Lastly , really? move the pin on the holes where you say on the card their suppose to be. Not worth the drive from Vegas, save the gas. Truly disappointed. My foursome and I won't be returning anytime soon. Ps I worked on a championship course as a kid for five years so I know how they should be kept.

We played the Primm Desert Course on 12/16/2013 and found the course well worth the 40 minute drive from Las Vegas. The cold weather over-seeding had not filled in yet, so there were some thin spots, but this was a minor issue and all other aspects of the course were just fine. Greens were excellent for this time of year. If you're one of those golfers who is more concerned with being pampered than playing golf, then go to Shadow Creek, if you're looking for a well designed course with a good quality staff and fair price, give Primm Valley a try.

The staff was very friendly. The course was in rough condition. Greens were OK, fairways, pretty bad shape. The bathrooms were awful, both men's and women's. The toilets looked like they had not been cleaned for well over a week, pee all over the floor and the toilet. Not sure if we are going to go back.

Well worth the 40 min. drive from Vegas. Rates were much better than the hyped up courses in Vegas. Course was in excellent condition, great scenery and very challenging but still very enjoyable for my wife from the front tees.

Primm desert course was fun and exciting to play, wide and narrows fairways, great layout, nice fairways, greens were not top shape but not bad for this time of the year, the pac of play was good about 4 hours. For the third of the price of a golf course fee in Las Vegas, it is a great trip if you have a car, remmber to take a photo just outside Primm when you enter in California. scenery is not a good as Paiute or Bear's best but you have the feeling to play in the middle of Mojave desert. Interesting and a great value

Was golfing with my wife who was learning, and the course was great. Not too challenging for her, yet some tough parts for me. Very well cared for, had a great day. Needs more beer carts though. Only saw one during entire 18 holes

Cold day to start, but warmed up some when the cloud cover cleared. The staff in the pro shop was excellent & offered great advice on breakfast. The breakfast burrito was large & flavorful. The starter was friendly & helpful. The course conditions were great! Fairways were in very good shape for December. The greens rolled nicely, but were difficult to read. Our bad! But, the course was challenging. We were able to play at a resident discount due to playing with family. This was a gem located in the middle of the desert & well worth the drive from Vegas. We would love to play there again before we leave the area!

I get to the Las Vegas area twice a year and try to play at least one different course each time. This trip it was the Primm Valley Desert course. The course was very well laid out and can be tough for the first time. Unfortunately, the course was being prepped for over seeding and the fairways were not in the best of conditions. This is one of the downside about September golf in the Vegas area. All in all, the course is stunning and the greens were in excellent shape. For the price, it is one of the better values to be found. It is about a 45 minute drive on Interstate 15 heading towards Los Angeles and the course is actually in Nipton, CA off of exit 291. From there there will be signs directing you to the course. It is well worth the drive.

I try to play here at least once a year and both courses (Desert or the Lakes) are still two of the best in the California/Nevada area. I shake my head every time I stop here as it is a mystery to me how they can keep this place in such perfect condition for being in the middle of no where! Check out the rates on Golfnow.com. Even the pro shop and resturant bar/grill is the best! If you have a chance to stop and play, do it. My recommendation if you can only play one is the Lakes Course.

I enjoyed the seafood buffet with two of my friend clean and the staff was also good.
