chautauqua park

This is a beautiful park , a wonderful place to camp ,have a picnic ,feed the ducks or injoy the hike and bike trails. You won't be disappointed.

Chautauqua Park is a nice, clean park located in the south part of Beatrice along HWY 77. I always enjoy walking my dog along the trail that runs throughout the park and through toward the west side of Beatrice along the Big Blue River. I have noticed a few tree limbs down most of the time and trees that need to be cleaned up. It also takes them awhile to mow the grass in the park. Seems to me they need a bigger budget for those things. A few more trash cans along the trail would be great too.

Chautauqua Park, located on the south side of the Big Blue River in Beatrice, NE is the site of the historic Chautauqua "Tabernacle" that is a great covered picnic area available for large and small groups. The hiking trail through Beatrice has its "trailhead" here. You will find playground equipment for children. The paved camping pads are shaded for your camper or tent camping, and the price is very reasonable for overnight camping. The large trees and green grass make it a great place to spend an afternoon, a day or overnight.

I love how the park is laid out. No matter which shelter you are at you can still see all areas of the playground. I like that the parking is farther away (less chance of accidents involving kids that are playing) and all 4 kids loved the tank!

The kids love this park. Plenty of room to run and play, as well as two different playground areas, a duck pond, small waterfall area, picnic shelters and a tabernacle for large groups. The shelters and tabernacle require reservations but they are very cheap to reserve. Nice park and well maintained.
