Very interesting and a unique setting overlooking the Scottsbluff, Nebraska area! Is isn't called Wildcat Hills for nothing...you may see one.
We stopped by here on the way back from Scott's Bluff National park and it definitely offered a great coda to a wonderful day. The visitors center was unfortunately closed for the season, but on the bright side no fees for hiking. The views were great, there were a few different hiking options between 1 and five miles. We took the north trail (about a mile and a half) and were pleasantly surprised to see that they offered benches along the trail so you can stop and enjoy the beauty.
We drove through here thinking we might see some spectacular scenery. We arrived before the visitor center opened, it might be worth a stop but don't really know. I think the fee is about $5 for this park. The scenery wasn't that great, there was one area that had an overlook into a canyon that wasn't very pretty, just grayish colored walls. The one outhouse we stopped at was so disgusting my friend stated he could "taste" the smell, it was that bad. We did see one turkey with babies. This area looks like it could have an abundance of deer and other animals. Skip this and go to Scotts Bluff National Park instead.
