Well worth the drive and the $95 to play. Always in excellent condition, well maintained and traps are full of quality sand. The layout is fair and challenging. As for the greens, what you see is what you get from a break perspective. Very fast, which I like. The restaurant, pro shop and service throughout the property are first class. Recommend playing in AM as the wind can pick up in the afternoon and make things difficult. 17 and 18 become extremely difficult (long) when played into the wind. Only 1 bad hole on the course imho, hole 14. Other than that, there are many memorable holes on this track.
My wife and I played Wednesday, 10/22/14. This was our second time here. The first time was with 35 mph winds, and we wanted another shot at the course under better conditions. It exceeded our expectations! It was the most stress-free golf day ever. The staff, the golf shop, the range, the course; all were more than anyone could expect. After our round, we sat outside and enjoyed a cocktail, and my wife, who is always schedule-aware, asked if we had time for another. :)We are already planning a trip and bringing 5 couples back with us and spending a weekend at the hotel and playing a couple rounds of golf!AWESOME.
The course is situated in a valley and features some hills and water. It is a lovely course to look at and the conditions are quite good. Although it does not look challenging it is. Holes tend to be long for an occasional golfer, but it is the rough which is most challenging.
We played the course during the severe drought. The course was in surprisingly good condition for the situation. The course is beautiful and challenging but fair. We have played this course about 3-4 times and what really stands out is the customer service. From the bag valet, complimentary cold bottled water on the cart and in refrigerators on the course every 3 holes thereafter, fresh cold towels after your round, GPS on the cart, and friendly helpful staff, this course is a step above. The clubhouse is beautiful for an after-round cocktail overlooking the 18th.
The course is absolutely beautiful, a completely top notch facility. Drop your bags with valet and rolled terry cloth hand towels in the restroom should describe the type of course this is. Great carts, iced bottled water everywhere (included), beverage carts patrolling, ability to order food via the onboard GPS etc. Course itself is outstanding, and yes difficult but really nice and fun to play. That said I have two complaints, each contingent upon the other. The first is price and the second is pressure to play quickly. If I am paying $120 and I bring along someone who isn't a great golfer, don't press me to play faster. Particularly if we didn't get off the tee on time (not our fault) and the people ahead weren't setting the world on fire. Or charge me less and push. It's like a restaurant. If I am paying a bunch of money, it isn't just for the "food," it's for the experience. I had way more fun the following day for $40 at Hidden Valley. I will review that one next. . .
The course is layed out very well. The fairways are lush and the rough is maintained at a playable level. I had a couple of issue's. First, range balls are provided with the round and when I started to warm up an attendant came out and told me the range was closed. It was 2:30 in the afternoon. No one in the pro shop had mentioned the range was closed. There were still range balls loosely piled in pyramids on the range. I questioned his statement and he said they had to prep the range for "tomorrow's" players. I asked him about the importance of "today's" players(me) and he shrugged me off as if it wasn't relevant.. He then lied to me by stating a group had just checked in and I might want to get up to the first tee so I could get in front of them as I was playing as a single. I was very disappointed as I had hoped to enjoy a nice relaxing, quiet round of golf. Secondly, when I got on the course I learned that the greens had been deep tined and sanded. The lack of communication regarding the state of the course that afternoon was disappointing....
Great course. When we had our round, the course was wide open. They also have a well-maintained driving range facility. We played from the men's white and it was still quite challenging, but not intimidating. From the elevated first tee box to the 18th, the course design was very interesting and required good course management. And in the unlikely event of a wayward ball due to a nasty slice or hook, make sure you heed the signs that say: "beware of rattle snakes".
We've had two opportunities (so far) to play Yocha-De-He Golf Course. Prior to our visiting, we honestly thought the greens fees were high and could not be a good value. We were lured out for a tournament, and it is now a favorite course. The whole experience is first rate - from bag drop to the post-round food and drinks. The customer service is exceptional - from managing the practice facilities down to the cool washcloths after the round. The course is challenging, but manageable and is very well maintained. The course occupies its own valley, offering seclusion from houses, traffic, even the nearby casino. It's a beautiful setting.
Unless you are also gambling at Cache Creek, a little too far from the Bay Area but the course is fantastic. Greens run true and but are very puttable. From those in the Bay Area, think Cinnabar Hills. It is a resort style course so lots of room on your drives. While the white tees are 6400+, it plays a lot shorter than that as the ball rolls on the fairways. Very playable.Other nice things, great grass range hitting to real holes. Free multiple bottles of water. Nice staff.Downside, seems like a lot of people to tip. 2 of the par 5's are very risk - little reward. You hit a great tee shot but you either have to hit wedge wedge or hit a heroic 3 wood over water or bunkers that only a scratch player could pull off half the time.
This is a beautiful course with spectacular views! The course is in great shape, fast greens, interesting and challenging holes and staff that are second to none. Every staff member we came in contact with was friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to make our day enjoyable. They truly are a class act! It's is a course I will definitely come back to play as well as highly recommend to fellow golfers.
My husband has been raving about this golf course since he played it two years ago, so it was easy to talk him into taking me there and paying it again. The course was in tip top shape, the customer service was impeccable, the views were stunning, the golf cart was the most comfortable ever, great food back at the clubhouse and all reasonably priced! The icing on the cake was being able to take a shower in the ladies locker room before getting back in the car to head north as we were on our way to Oregon.
We were treated to a wonderful greeting and totally taken care of from the second we dropped of our golf clubs and for the whole 18 holes. Staff could not have been more helpful to make sure our day was great and they even brought our food to our golf cart.
Gorgeous and reasonably priced golf courseGreat shopping in Pro ShopSuper restaurant and bar
Golfers love to play this course. I don't golf, so I enjoy the club for its stunning decor, gorgeous views, good food and drink, and very reasonable prices. We have had small celebation luncheons there.
This course is beautifully maintained and totally first class. Great club house and the staff is very accomodating. The challenge here is the greens which are very large and super fast. I enjoyed it very much.
