A modern, comfortable tasting room with enough room to accommodate a good sized crowd. Visiting in the off season and a weekday means you pretty much have the tasting room to yourself. The wines are quite superior quality at mid range prices.The tasting room staff is friendly and doesn't oversell. The winery is pet friendly and allows dogs in the tasting room. Tasting fee is waived with purchase

I absolutely love the wine from this company! I even love that they come with screw-top bottles. The workers at this tasting room are so welcoming and friendly. I try to stop by every time I drive to or from San Francisco. A couple visits ago I had to join the wineclub I loved the offerings so much.

Stopped there on our recent vacation to the central coast area. We have been to this winery a few years ago, and they courtesy has not changed. If you are in the area on Hwy 101, look for this small but nice place to stop and enjoy a little bit of the grape.

Scheid has extensive vineyard holdings and produces huge quantities of wine for other folks.If you're driving highway 101 up or down the Central Coast, Scheid has always been a pleasant stop for me in the past. The wines are of average quality for my palate, but they seem to be priced 20% higher than their quality warrants. Last year I bought one bottle. This time nothing. Usually the tasting room person is pleasant and talkative. This time I got a zombie; a geezer, like myself. I struggled to get him to speak. I didn't stay long. Better luck next time.
