It truly pains me to write such a terrible review of a business that has such potential, but here goes. I purchased a 2 for 1 deal special. The entry fee is typically $20 for one, so my friend and I got in for $20 instead. The good:The place is beautifully designed, elegantly appointed, clean, calm and serene. The bad:Several of the treatment areas were not functioning, including the dry sauna in the woman's area, and the Ice Room that you desperately need after the dry sauna in the co-ed area. The ugly:You'll have to study the photos I've attached to see the murky, green hot and cold jacuzzi. I hesitate to call the cold one a jacuzzi, it is not much larger than a large soaking tub with a waterfall. It actually seemed a dangerous thing with no hand rails to assist one climbing in or out. Upon entering, you are provided a pair of shorts and a t-shirt that are required attire to enter the co-ed areas of the spa. It was not clearly explained why a swimsuit would not do...but it wouldn't. The spa has a designated woman's (and men's) section, clothing/swim suits are optional there, however and naturally, clothing is a must in the co-ed areas. Ok, I get that. You are also given a bath and hand towel. One may or may not have a scheduled service. I didn't, my friend did. While waiting for her massage to end, I was unwilling to climb into the murky cold or hot jacuzzi, so that left the steam room or the dry saunas. As stated above, the dry sauna in the woman's section was not working, I had to go downstairs to the co-ed area in my ill-fitting shorts and shirt. That was actually okay because aside from my friend and I, there was only one other person in the entire spa!! One. Person. That's not, necessarily, a bad thing..but you know when you go into a restaurant where no one else is?? You start to wonder why....I will say that both the salt and the clay saunas were wonderful. Quiet, serene, pleasant scent. The problem? After a few minutes in a hot, dry sauna you need a COLD shower. Darn, the Ice Room was out of order, so if you are a female, you have to run back upstairs and either jump in the murky cold jacuzzi or take a cold shower. Oh..and the showers? Again, beautifully designed and appointed..shampoo, soap and conditioner were provided. But...NO CURTAINS! That may not be a big deal for many, but this gal requires a bit of privacy. I will say that my friend's hour massage was probably the longest hour of my life. I literally spent MAYBE 5 minutes availing myself of the dray sauna before throwing in the towel and simply waiting for her to finish up. Happily, my friend did enjoy her massage so that was a good thing. Needless to say, I'll never return. Truly a shame, too, because the place really is so very beautiful.

It is beautiful but there is much lacking. There is never very many people there. You can get a massage, get some waxing done but the plastic over the sheet really bothered me. Also if you just want to relax and watch the TV there is no way to know how to increase the volume or change the channels. There are no magazines to look at that are not 2 years old and dog eared. It seems to be clean and I see people going in and out but it seems empty when I am there.

I've been several times. I love it. Nothing like a Korean body scrub. This place is always empty. Last time I was there - it was just me! They have some cool coed rooms that you should definitely check out (somewhat hidden): Ice Room, Clay Room, Salt Room.Definitely get the full body scrub. They have a $10 off Summer deal right now. Just go. Check it out.

Try the body scrub. You will want to have this treatment weekly after your first time. The amenities are amazing and clean. Very good service from start to end. The best part is the co-ed part because you can take your hubby to experience the same wonderful time!

Not for the shy as it was oriental style, showers had no curtains. There are no robes or sandals so bring your own - they give you one yellow towel and one small orange towel, no extra towels available. No cool towels. The only water available is the dispenser with 2 oz dixie cups, they do sell water in the lobby - guess they want you to purchase water there. No one showed me around. It was hot, they had fans blowing on the counter. Cheap. Such a beautiful spa, but cheap. Not worth the time nor money.... they did give me in addition to my yellow and orange towel , a pink and grey tshirt and shorts??? Not an orchid in site, no ambiance; run down :(

I called and got an appt for a deep tissue massage at CJ. I arrived early and a surly woman told me to pay now $80 . She repeated "Deep Tissue". I walked up to the facility which was nice. The jacuzzi was covered with rusty tiles on the bottom but was clean. I tried the ice room and clay room which were both nice. There are no robes or sandals so bring your sandals! There are no cool towels or any towels other than what is given when you check in. THere is only one water dispenser and two ounce dixie cups so bring your own Nalgene . I had to go in the spa, climb down to get a sip of water, back up to the spa, back down to get a two ounce sip of water. There was no way of carrying more than three and most of the rooms are downstairs so you have to climb upstairs and across the facility everytime you need a drink. The entire time I was thinking about how I was going to get athletes foot. Well when it was time for my massage the therapist, who was very sweet, came and took me to the room and after five minutes the fire alarm went off. We continued the massage and it went off then on... this repeated the entire massage! Also I never got my deep tissue but a shiatzu massage! She didn't know how to perform a deep tissue and had no lotion to perform it if she did. I had paid for a relaxing day and a deep tissue massage but got a very unnerving experience. Since they make you pay in advance, there was nothing I could do. The woman who had let me in was surprisingly missing. Not a soul to be found.I waited and waited but she had vanished (SHOCK) so I couldn't get my money back. I wouldn't recommend this spa. Not for $5

The spa is located right on PCH with parking in the structure. My husband and I were a bit unsure, but decided to give this a try. We have been to spas in Japan, Vegas, etc., but never in Hermosa. The spa is very new, but it was worth the $20 general admission. We were given a gym outfit and locker electronic keys to change into for the coed area. We spent time in the coed area downstairs: ice room, herb room, and salt room. We then went to our separate areas where there was a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and showers. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there and enjoyed it. Can't wait to go back. Tips: Not for the shy as it was oriental style (no bathing suits) and did not see any food available in the facility. Others were getting massages, etc. but we did not.
