The views of the ocean from the cliffs are increadible. Nice picnic areas, good parking & bathrooms. Not much of a hiker, but the trails looked nice.

We drove up from our campground at Prairie Creek State and National Park and found the road that would take us to the high bluff overlook. Thankfully, the road is one way going north because there really wasn't room for two cars to pass. The road takes one way above the Pacific Ocean for unbelievable vistas. It's an awesome view throughout, and especially as the road concludes where the Klamath River empties into the Pacific Ocean. There is a lovely little burial site near the end of the road. It was well worth the trip.

What a view -- do stop on your drive, pull over, and grab your camera for snapshots. You can't go wrong. But then put your camera away and just absorb nature at its beauty. I watched the fog dance in and out -- truly beautiful!

A gorgeous view!! Don't miss this! We took lots of pictures. The tide was coming in with good size waves. You may need a jacket as it was 63 degrees while we were there.

Wonderful view of the mouth of the Klamath River at the ocean. Do not take an RV up there--you'll get stuck!

We were there early in the morning with valley fog coming down the estuary. Scenery to die for, right from the parking lot....

It was sunny on the way up but when we got to the top we could not see a thing because of the fog. It was a nice ride but we could not see a thing.

We were just driving around, seeing where the road went, and stumbled across this pleasant park! High Bluff Overlook is reached via the gravel Coastal Drive Loop, off the paved Klamath Beach Road on the south side of the Klamath River. The road is good for cars and pickups, but NOT for RVs. A small pickup camper or small Class B van would probably be okay.As we drove west on Klamath Beach Road, we found a small cemetery near a white cross on the first bluff at the mouth of the river. There is a place to pull over, but the private cemetery is fenced and gated. There is an informational sign talking about the rock formation on the north side of the river - and a great view.Continuing along the gravel road (the original late 19th Century wagon road) , we stopped at the Radar Station B-71, which was interesting. It's listed here on TripAdvisor, under the town of Klamath. We continued to drive up the hill, and saw the sign for the High Bluff Overlook. Of course we had to investigate! The road going down to the park is good gravel but fairly steep. I was amused by the "truck warning" sign -- as if any big trucks would even be on this road, ha-ha :-)Anyway, the road curves around and ends at a parking area. There is a pleasant grassy field with several picnic tables. There are vault toilets which were clean and stocked with fresh TP. This area is wheelchair accessible. There is sign pointing sort of northwest to a viewpoint, but since this was in April, it was wet and muddy and neither one of us wanted to trek down the hill. There is also a much easier-to-reach viewpoint to the south with a spectacular view of the bluffs and beach below. We had already eaten our picnic lunch, but this would be a very nice place for a picnic. The tables are set back a bit so they are out the wind - it was a *very* breezy day when we were there. If you're on the Coastal Drive Loop, be sure to stop here :-)
