We enjoy eating at the Silver Dollar Saloon. The decorations are authentic old western everything... Pictures, saddles, oil lamps, etc. There is a framed collection of barbed wire that is fascinating! The booths are a little difficult to get into, and the seats are hard wood with no padding. The tables and chairs are okay. There are fifteen seats at the bar and five or six tables outside in a little courtyard.The menu is varied, and features what I call comfort food. The burgers are really delicious, and the buns are not your run of the mill buns. When we order ribs, we always choose to have the sauce on the side. We get the BEST ribs that way! The salad bar is nothing too thrilling, and I rarely eat from it. We are always so full we have never had dessert.The bar drinks are not consistent, and sometimes I have actually asked for more alcohol... if we were in there more often, I believe the drinks would be stronger. I'm not much of a drinker, but it's the principal, right?The cost for two for lunch or dinner ends up around thirty dollars. It's very easy to get to the Silver Dollar when your driving north from Sacramento on Highest 70. Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn right onto 3rd Street. Go one block and turn right on D Street. Go one long block and the Silver Dollar is directly ahead of you (the road dead ends at the river levi). Enjoy!

We love the Silver Dollar Saloon for wonderful food and great atmosphere. We particulaly like the ribs. They are perfectly prepared and the meat falls off the bones. It is wonderful to see the old bar that was shipped around the continent to get here. I highly recommend it.
