This is a wonderful place for an early morning walk. You'll see the mule deer, possibly whales, and most definitely a view of the ocean (if there's no fog).

This is a park that can be a model on how to capitalize on location but also to provide historical and ecological context. We hiked to the park on an easy paved trail over the Pudding Creek Trestle about 2 miles to the south and discovered the wonderful wooden pathways and placards that provide concise info on the location, the indigenous people and their ties to the place, the geology and the flora and fauna of the locale as well as the redwood lumbering that formed the backbone of the economy until recently.A docent assisted us to watch for the whales in migration. From a viewing platform on a headland we saw a group of three whales (grey whales?) periodically spouting as they slowly travelled to the north. That was worth our entire stay in Ft Bragg. Very well done.

Had fun tide pooling and easy walk on the boardwalk for great ocean views. Also looked like a great camping spot although we just went for the walk and to try to spot whales.

Love the walk out to the point. Lots of animals to observe and some history about the area on the walk out. The bathrooms needed some cleaning.

We visited on a sunny and warm February day with our three dogs. They loved the raised wooden trail and the access to various beaches from rocky to sandy. The parking is free for Day Use which was nice. A very interesting visitors center at the front of the park has a real whale skeleton that the kids will love.

MacKerricher Park was recommended to us by the manager of the motel we were staying at. It is right outside of Ft. Bragg. Lots of lots of areas to walk and explore, gorgeous scenery, and very clean. I highly recommend it.

We didn't have too much time to spend here. Just went on the boardwalk which was great for a short visit. There are interesting info signs along the way. Go here if you're in Fort Bragg.

They have a real nice Boardwalk that takes you out about a half a mile to the bluff. The overlook is fantastic. During whale season whales do come in close and you can get a great look. Sea lions and seals also.

Easy walking on the trails. A broad walk that leads to great ocean views, Void of crowds and dog and user friendly. Wish this place existed closer to home.

Go to the lake and keep going under the tracks to the parking lot. Great beach shots and some wildlife (pelican flybys, black oyster catchers).

Walk along the cliffs and enjoy some amazing views of California coastline. This park is also dog friendly. Just bring your leash....

I took both of my dogs and we went hiking almost everyday. The trails are fun. They are easy to follow. The beach is fantastic. Most of the time we were the only ones there.

A must go see on your visit to Fort Bragg. Miles of open beaches in the surrounding area or a deck for those with a need for handicap access benches. Love it here!

Momospond

Good handicap facilities, but honestly over the last 10 years this place has gone seriously downhill. There are still some nice campgrounds& the proximity to the haul road is good for hiking/biking access. Otherwise go elsewhere for a better facility.

Great place to walk or bike. We went a bit north of there as well for a wonderful, long bike ride on a trail.
