Recommended to us because I love the grounds around a winery and was told they bottle really good grape juice. Well my husband liked it so much we bought 4 to have on Thanksgiving along with the Pinot. Very well received.

A beautiful place/grounds. Free wine tastings and next to other wineries within walking distance. You can buy cheese there as well

Drove on Hwy 128 on Friday and hit a few of the Vineyards on the way to buying 36 bottles of wine from the various wineries we visited. Navarro as usual accounted for 33% of the bottles; They always have a great selection, are priced optimally and get great service from the people serving you. There is no tasting fee which is always great. We were 4 adults tasting - and we all enjoyed every bit of it.

This was our second visit to Navarro winery, and I enjoyed it even more than the first time. Tasted several wines and bought some and had them shipped home. They also had a nice selection of cheese, meat and crackers so we sat in their lovely picnic area and had lunch. Delightful.

We were happy to get a glowing recommendation from our B&B hostess, and this place did not disappoint!A beautiful setting, with sheltered areas for picnics, a doggie exercise area, and no tasting fee!And the wines were, by and large, extremely good. The locals say that this is the place to stop in Andersen Valley, and I would have been the poorer for it had I not stopped in - a gem!

All the wineries have some picnic space, but this is the only one that has sheltered picnicking if it starts to rain. They also have more half bottles than most - if you're like me, you don't want more if you have to drive to the coast. Their large selection of wines and free tasting can invite indulgence. Do what we do - share one tasting, and you can taste more and feel it less. They sell a small selection of food items, but better to bring your own. Buy a chilled bottle to drink there and then take home another case - you'll want to. Lots of parking, easily accessible. If you think you hate sweeter whites, ignore that feeling and try them anyway. You'll be converted. We go here EVERY time we venture up this way, for a good reason.

We visited several wineries in Anderson Valley and Navarro stood out as the best. Tastings are free, it has a beautiful view and the wine was very good. The tasting room was crowded on Sunday and is somewhat small but plenty of outside space to sit and enjoy!

We literally drove by after 5, and the sign was still up that the tasting room was open, so we stopped. Unlike most places, they're open until 6, and, also unlike most others, tasting is free. A list of about 16 wines was set in front of us and we were told we could taste all of them if we wanted to. Such a pleasant change from most of CA!The wines were good, if not great. The odd thing is that they're pretty much all direct to consumer - they don't sell through wine stores, so don't expect to find them retail anywhere. In addition to the vineyards, they also have a dairy/creamery and several other agricultural endeavors on the property. You can purchase the cheese in the tasting room. The 2 month Boont Corners was very nice with wine and apples for dinner. Would certainly go back.

We love Navarro wines! The winery is beautiful year around. The tasting room is small but adequate. The tasting room staff are great! Ask for dining recommendations and you will be accommodated with enthusiasm. There is no charge for wine tasting. This is one of our 'must stops' when traveling through the Anderson Valley.

Navarro is a small, beautiful winery right on Highway 128. The tasting was free and we tried a number of wines. They have a nice deck with tables - the perfect place to picnic. In addition to their wines, they have some excellent grape juices for those who prefer nonalcoholic beverages.

We booked a tour of the vineyards and winery, an effort made very worthwhile by our guide! Since the wines were not new to us, we sampled a few wines, made some selections from the artisnal cheeses, ordered a couple of cases of wine (one to be shipped across the country which arrived on schedule), and our afternoon adventure was complete. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff, and excellent products. It is a real pleasure to visit and I hope the character doesn't change with the expansion of their tasting rooms.

We enjoyed visiting Navarro Winery and tasting their wine and grape juice. We bought several bottles of both types of grape juice and wines.

Yes it can get a bit crowded. But, there's no charge for tasting, and folks flock here regardless because the wine is not readily available in retail outlets. What we like about Navarro is a broad array of varietals (each one true to its roots) and always at least a half dozen top stars available for purchase. So many Mendocino wineries specialize in one or two items (e.g., Pinot Noir). But, at Navarro, you can minimally get really exemplary Chardonnays and Pinot Noires as well as a Gewurtztraminer that will become your wine of choice for Thanksgiving. Add very friendly and accommodating staff, sheep and "watch llama" mowing vineyard rows and a drop dead gorgeous view and you'll be hard pressed to find another winery that measures up.

It is worth the trip to Navarro for the well crafted wines and beautiful scenery. It is a different experience from the crowds and hard sell napa wineries and there is no tasting charge for some great wines. We have been customers for nearly 30 years since we wondered into the vineyards and marveled at the clean, delightful wines of Ted and Deborah. They also focus on biodiversity in their vineyard practices. Try some of the goat cheese, too. Ted, Sue and i thank you for the personal tour of the ranch and winery this November!
