I took my two daughters, one who hadn't ridden before and one who is an experienced rider, and we had a good time. It is operated out of the owners' house and backyard. They allow one-at-a-time bathroom visits in the main house. The horses were in good condition except for some of their hooves that could do with some attention. They were good trail horses. The trail was pleasant and staff attentive. One thing I wished I had known beforehand was that traffic can be a nightmare heading out of the LA area to Norco. We booked for a Friday afternoon and it's a miracle that we made it on time, even with leaving lots of time to get there. The town of Norco is very quaint with a horsie theme. My girls loved it. The price of the trail ride is very reasonable.
Visited western trails horse riding in norco today. Great experience from start to finish, the staff are very friendly and very helpful. Would recomend all to take the drive out and visit these guys.
Had a blast here with my friends, our wrangler Chuck was so fun! The scenery was beautiful. Definitely going back!
Chuck was amazing. The breakfast was delicious! ! !...First time rider =) Rio was good to me lol a lil' feisty like me ;) Personalities fit..My b.f and I went there this morning as an early bday present to me and I loved it!! The love and respect for the horses is obvious...I've been wanting to ride since I was a little girl and I couldn't have asked for a better horse, ranch, and ppl to experience it with <33 Even better....Since I think ppl were recouping from 4th of July me and my b.f had the chucks full attn for the morning =) I can't wait to go back for a night ride! ☕
We went yesterday with an out of town guest for a great hour long ride. The staff were helpful and entertaining, and the horses were calm and fun to ride. The trail we were on went through the Santa Ana river bed, and it offered great photo ops and lots to see. We will be doing this again in spring to see the flowers. Great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors a bit.
I have been on a dozen or so of these trail rides over the years so I have some experience. I went today and took my 67 year old mom. The place was great! The horses were all healthy as a horse, pardon the pun. I did see a skinny one in the stable but nobody was riding him on this trip. A group of 10 of us went out with 3 guides. The horses were all well behaved, the trail was scenic for the area but a bit dusty. We were not given 500 rules to follow during the pre ride briefing, only 1. The staff were friendly and courteous. I would reccomend this place. You cannot beat the price either. If your considering this place, do it! Just a little bit dusty though because its dry right now. you cannot call them or email them but I paid through paypal and when we showed up, no problems.
This place is cheap and thats usually for a reason. I would rather pay more money and ride a well kept, well presented, happy horse! These horses weren't skinny but noticeably under nourished in minerals. There hooves were disgusting and in the country where im from SPCA would be on any owners case if they had a horse like this. My horse was filthy and had dreads for a mane, he had a dull coat, dull eyes and generally looked pretty sad. I checked his teeth as i was interested to gage his age and the poor boy had NO teeth. My husbands horse appeared to have more life in him but had a nasty cough. The presentation of the facilities and horses were most depressing to see. I will never return here!! We questioned the young girl who guided our ride and she agreed the horses feet were bad.
It had been ages since my last horseback ride. The two young ladies in charge were definitely not even thought of when I rode so long ago at the very same facility because I was a pre-teen back then. The horse they put me on...well I began to feel sorry for it. It seemed smaller than the others' horses, and wheezed & struggled the whole trip. At times, I felt like jumping off and carrying "Amigo" instead of the other way around. When we would be going uphill, one of the gals would remind us to lean forward (to help the horse with weight distribution). Some of us can't be leaning forward like that, so often, and for so long! Hence the review title...At one point during the trip back, we passed two guys sitting in front of their garage and I swear I heard one of them say, "Is that a horse?". I really felt cheated that the gal seemed to purposefully give me an inferior horse and placed me and my daughter in back of the line. It really was uncalled for and unappreciated. I think animal welfare should check up on some of those horses because we noticed they are not even watered between outings and it was hot with hilly terrain out there.Never again.
Western Trails was a great riding experience. My party and I took off at 5 for the last ride of the evening (due to the sun going down earlier) and we had a great time! We got spectacular views while on the ride of flowers, bamboo, Mt. Baldy, and hints of the Santa Ana River. There were times on the ride where we were completely covered under trees and other vegetation. I took multiple pictures while on my well behaved horse. Children as young as 7 can ride on the trails. Weekdays it is $25 and Weekends $35. Affordable if you ask me. Parking is in the back there is a little side road along the stalls to lead you to proper parking. Everyone was extremely nice and courteous. My sister has been here twice, this was first time, and I am definitely going back again soon!!!!!
Had a great ride, felt like I was in another place. The horses were all well behaved and the wranglers were business like and definitely looking out for the safety of the horses and the riders. My only complaint was that the ride was over too quick! I am going to take my family back next time.
This ride was very pleasurable. A bit far of a drive for me, but very much worth the price I paid for the ride. Horses and riders were all treated with respect. Ranch owners were very nice people, but they do not tolerate lateness or lack of rules being followed (mostly for safety reasons). Overall experience was very good, and I would recommend this place to friends and family!
