sacramento river bend area

We went to the picnic area just below the dam for dinner. The picnic sites are clean and have fireplaces although we used a camp stove. A table cloth is recommended since the tables are old but serviceable. There is water provided.

Use to walk out there frequently with our dogs until several murders and rapes were committed out there. I avoid dangerous places at all cost. It was a beautiful place to take a nice long walk years ago.

It hot but nice so much to do and see in the area.Many sites that can be day trips.Good area if you are an outdoor person.Summer and winter

I'm a photographer and have taken many pictures of Red Bluff -- beautiful river scenes, interesting architecture, a classic movie theatre, wonderful old brick church -- in general lots of small town charm. The Riverside Bar and Grill, with its wonderful river view, is a destination in its own right. Treat yourself to a drive through the old downtown area.

To me this is your typical outdoor hangout, very suitable for a day outdoors. The views are very nice in the spring, it can be a bit dry in the fall and winter.

What a beautiful place and great job BLM has done to clean this area up. We went for a couples day with the kids and were there for hours, walking around looking at the ponds and views of the river! Absoutly beautiful and best of all FREE!!!There are a lot of trails to also ride your bike if you wish or have a nice romantic meal together or as a family! but beautiful and with all the flowers and green trees etc! Couldnt believe I have never been there before and it was in Redding, CA!
