We made our reservations online (just like picking an airline seat reservation) to see "American Sniper" for our first visit to this theatre, and entry was very efficient at the check in kiosk. The facility is new and very nice, and unlike any other movie theatre we've ever been to, the lobby features a large sit down bar and a full menu of adult beverages. So go early to your show and sit around to enjoy the ambiance of the lobby before you go into your show. The theatre has multiple screens, they seat only 55 people each in comfortable chairs that are far more comfortable than any other movie theatre. Your order is taken from a somewhat limited menu, and it's mostly the fried fast food variety which I guess you'd rather not have unless you're not on a diet. We chose ribs, which turned out to be a good choice as even though they're small in size, they're very tasty. Plus we ordered margaritas, which were well poured and you could get either on the rocks or blended frozen varieties. There's a little red service light that you push on to obtain further service from the food staff, they come immediately to take care of you.The food takes about 20 minutes to arrive, which isn't too long, and the drinks are served easily within 5-10 minutes. It was fun eating and watching the movie, we used to have to go elsewhere to eat before making our way to the movie, so this concept is a good one and makes you feel quite spoiled. The ribs are extremely messy to eat, but they give you plenty of napkins to take care of the problem. There was only one truly negative aspect of the entire experience, and that was near the end of the movie when the server tapped on my wife's shoulder to give her the bill. Unfortunately this occurred during a very tense moment in the movie, and it scared my wife. She did it again when picking up the credit card, and then again when the credit card needed to be signed for the tab. So three times my wife was disturbed and terribly distracted during the tense final 15 minutes of the movie, and she didn't like it. Neither did I, because it was both rude and presumptuous to think my wife would be handling the bill. Don't they teach these 20 somethings anything about social etiquette? This inexcusable rudeness somewhat ruined the experience for my startled wife, which was upsetting to me too when she complained about it afterwards on the way home. Sure, they want to get their money before you jump up and run out of the theatre when the movie is over, but really they should just set the bill in front of the man and don't do any unnecessary tapping on the shoulders. Please! For that reason they only get an AVERAGE rating in this review, management should be teaching their employees not to be rude to their guests!
Had a great time at the Movie Grill. Although we didn't have dinner, the snacks were great, and everyone sitting nearby said they loved the food. We plan on having the dinner next time.
Watching a movie AND being able to eat and drink wine is a PLUS !!! The food isn't going to blow you away and it's a little pricey for what it is....but it is tasty and you have a lot more choices than a hot dog and popcorn. Being able to have alcohol during the movie is what brought my rating up !!! The servers are polite and courteous, slouching down so they don't get in the way of your view. Each seat is equipped with a fold-out tray that has a red call button on it ...so you can summon a server at any time should you need something else to eat or drink during the movie !! We'll definitely try it again !!!
Not for a spur of the moment movie you won't find a seat however midweek there is last minute availability. Comfy, oversize seating, excellent sound system and the food is good!
The title above says it all for me! LolThis place was fantastic! I've never been to one of these before and I was just blown away!!This is one of those places where your either gonna hate it or love it. Honestly we're going to be coming back here a lot more!! The picture is great the sound was VERY impressive! We watched American Sniper and wheew!!! Let's just say the opening scene with the tank driving over rubble literally shook our seats!!The servers are very polite and go out of their way to answer any questions you may have. If you love movies and going out to dinner then you can accomplish both in one spot...and get your drink on.
We went to an early show (4:20) on Thursday. The theater was mostly empty meaning not to muchdistracting activity. The food was good but not great. A bit over salted- at least the chicken strips in the salad. The wings and quesadilla were tasty. Reasonably priced and comfy. We'll go again.
We have been twice. It was interesting. The first time we went I had the chicken strips. They were pretty good. They were out of a lot of items. It's not a place where you ask for special thinks like ranch dressing for you chicken strips. They write it down but the kitchen doesn't read well. The second tome we went we ordered Diet Dr. Pepper. We got Diet Pepsi. Nasty. Got it fixed when they brought us our very greasy chips with salsa. Then Mac n Cheese was like eating paste. The cheese sauce was very thick. It wasn't creamy at all. When we asked for a refill on soda we got Diet Pepsi again. When we got our check it clearly said Diet Dr. Pepper. How they got it wrong twice I don't know. It was an interesting experience but the service is kind of shotty. They need to do a lot more training. I know they are kids but it's not that hard when you write it down.
Fantastic! Popcorn and coconut chicken was delicious. Eating not distracting, which pleasantly surprised me. Reasonable prices. Can order tap water, like at a restaurant, which is nice due to the reduced cost.
We went for the first time last night and saw "Into The Woods", which was very good, but different from the stage play. As to the place itself, some good things, some not so good. Not many kids running around, which is nice. No big, loud arcade like at other theatres. Instead of a big snack bar, they had a full service bar and lots of big couches to wait on. Theatre opened about a half hour before showtime. When you're ready to order, you push a button on your table and they're notified on their little cell-phone-sized order tablet.Food was pretty good, and portions were big enough. I ordered mac & cheese with chicken, but they were out of chicken. I asked if they still had mac & cheese, and he said they did. My wife ordered mac & cheese with steak - they were out of steak! So she ordered fish & chips - they were out of fish & chips! We both just had mac & cheese with no meat added. (Tasty, but a bit heavy on garlic for my taste.) Our waiter commented, "We've been open 2 weeks now. One would think they'd know how much food to order to avoid running out, but evidently not."We also ordered chips & dip, which was tasty. Menu says (or at least implies) it comes with salsa in addition to 2 of 3 dips, but ours arrived without salsa. When I asked, they brought it, but there was a fifty cent extra charge for it on our bill! Not big enough to complain, but annoying none the less. (First, because we thought it was supposed to be included, and second because it was never mentioned that there would be an extra charge for it when we asked the runner for it.) Movie (admission) tickets cost $9 each (Actually, they added $1.50 "service charge" for booking online), and our mac & cheese was $11 each. (Would have been $13 with chicken, but they didn't have any chicken!)Walking into the theatre (which just opened 2 weeks ago) I noticed at least 3 places where the carpet was already falling apart! One place was in the main walkway, where there was about a 3" wad of carpet thread, which could possibly trip someone! Seats are comfortable, and upholstered in black leather. Tiny swing-away desks are barely big enough to put your food on them, (Don't order 3 plates of anything, or you'll be holding one of them in your lap!) A bit awkward that the desks to eat on are rounded (bean shaped, actually) but our mac & cheese came in square bowls. The lady two seats over from me kept checking her Facebook account mid-movie on her cell phone. After about 5 minutes of that, some of the people behind her started throwing their dirty napkins at her and she stopped.Thought it was funny that a slide came up pre-show, stating, "If your child becomes fussy during the show, please step outside of the theatre." We both looked at each other, chuckled and said together, "With or without the kid?"Lots of employees. I'm pretty sure most of them were kids at minimum wage, but they seemed to do fine. Considering it's a new & different experience for almost everyone who attends at this point, since they've only been open 2 weeks, the employees don't seem to have an easy way to describe how things work. One girl, in fact, even said, "Well, I'm not sure how to explain it but..." They offer mints as you're leaving the theatre, which is a nice touch. We didn't order any alcohol, but those who did got drinks that seemed nice enough. Margarita is $8, I believe. Certainly, if you wanted alcohol with your movie, it's the ONLY place to go! Other movie theatres don't have full bars!!!All in all, it was a nice experience, but not quite the "magic" I might have expected. (If Disney ran it, for example, things might run a bit smoother.) Several bugs still to be worked out. Considering they had just opened two weeks prior and they got several things wrong, it was amazing that comment cards were nowhere to be found! It was kind of a fun experience. Certainly, WAY better than eating movie theatre popcorn! (Although they did offer that as one of the appetizers.) I might do it again, but not sure I'd go way out of my way to do it. Convenient, since you can have dinner there, rather than going to a restaurant first, and worrying that you won't get out in time to catch the beginning of the movie! I think I'd recommend doing it. I'd go again.
Food & service were just okay. Wouldn't go on a busy day because of the distraction of servers everywhere & the noise of people talking & eating. The manager outright lied to us about available seating because it wasn't convenient for his servers, which is never appreciated. The upside is that everything is brand new, there was no minimum food purchase, & the staff were very friendly.
