creation and earth history museum

The biggest load of fantasy and mis-information I have ever seen. Great place to have a good laugh at what some people will accept as "science" though.

Wonderful to be able to go to a museum that reinforces what the Bible teaches! Wish the exhibit were a little more interactive and not as much pure reading - my pre-teens did get bored after awhile. Liked the tabernacle presentation, only wished it has been more biblically informative, rather than more evangelical in nature. Worth the price of admission!

If you aren't openminded about how the world came into being, then skip this because it'll be a waste of your time and you'll just want to call people names. If you're open to hearing a different view than the one taught in government schools or if you believe the Christian Bible to be true than you'll glean much from this museum. I scheduled a tour for two teenage sons and myself for a Wednesday morning during spring break. Paying for the tour was only a little more expensive than purchasing admission for the 3 of us. If you have a larger group you'll save money doing the tour. I highly recommend the tour; it lasts about 2 hours. The guide was well informed, interesting and open to questions. The exhibits are well done and full of in-depth information. The tour does not take you through the anatomy section or the tabernacle section so budget additional time for those if you're interested.The gift shop/book store has many resources to purchase(research books, picture books, dvds etc.) if this is a subject matter that you're interested in delving into.

This museum is a fascinating place to see, read and hear from those who believe "real science" and The Holy Bible are compatible. The people who operate this museum are interested in making sure that all visitors receive courteous service and an enjoyable experience. My wife and I love going to see new exhibits that frequently are added to the already impressive offerings. This is the best museum of its kind in the West. You will need to allow at least 2 hours to simply view the exhibits in all rooms but the nicest feature is that in every room there are brief pamphlets that you may take for further reading on a host of subjects. It is unforgettable!

I am 20 years old, a student at The University of Arizona. I visited this "museum" with my family who lives in San Diego. We took with us 7 children and there were 3 total adults. The kids and adults both enjoyed this exhibit. We all learned a lot about what Christian's believe and how it can be related to science and all the different religions out there. Definitely had a great time. The exhibit is very children and parent friendly, clean, pretty, and easy to find. They offer some souvenirs to take with you, including home school books for kids.

What a great place to take your kids to teach them about the origins of the world. Great family has kept this museum alive. A great tool for homeschool or a great learning tool for anyone. Check it out and you won't be disappointed.

Very well put together, and I love that there are dozens of pamphlets you can take with you to study later. There is a lot of content and it's hard to absorb it all right away, as you walk through the many, many exhibits. The owner's and maintainer's passion for the subject shows. Though I am a science guy, raised with the traditional explanations for Earth's history that we get in school, I found it refreshing to read about and see other interpretations and explanations for things that we have taken as fact for our whole lives. It is indeed a good reminder that many of our "facts" are merely theories. Their website makes it look like maybe a handful of rooms to walk through, but there is much more. We saw maybe a third of it in about 30 minutes..

5 Stars for my beliefs and views. Great place to discard some if not all of your old beliefs and see what is the truth. A must visit for all believers. This was a side trip on our visit to Legoland. I didn't even know that it was there until a couple of days before our trip.Anyway, I plan to return soon and spend more time. There is a lot more to see and the whole family enjoyed it. They have a really good book store as well. Free admission and parking. creationsd.org/

The science is researched and documented. The art in the exhibits is amazing. The complete visit will challenge your thinking and confirm your faith!

Well-built and very interesting museum. And the best part...it's free! Our kids love this place! They have a large selection of books, dvds, and other media for sale. They've recently expanded to add a new wing too! A must see for families and students!

Be sure to allow an extra hour for their new human body wing, Lots of well explained human biological processes and colorful interesting models. We usually visit this museum once or twice a year to see the the Biblical model of creation, Noah's ark and flood geology, Tower of Bable, the origin of "races" and Bible history. A GREAT place to bring family and friends, whether visiting from out of town, or, have never seen Creation or Bible history "visualized". It's FREE and you may prearrange a guided tour through the museum. TIP: Visit Santee Swap Meet early, then visit the museum!

This is a great place for those looking to see what pro-creationism scientists have to say about everything from carbon dating to plate tectonics and astronomy.

Located on a frontage road to one of the innumerable freeways which loop around San Diego, the Creation and Earth History Museum is a large, modern, well kept, free museum which presents the argument that the earth was, as it is written in the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament, literally created in six days and, that by using the Bible as a source, it can be determined that the earth is comparatively young - 6,000-10,000 years old at the most - and not the billions of years most scientists believe is the true age.The museum looks small from the outside but is actually quite large once you get inside. It consists of a series of rooms which present the creationist view. The first series of rooms illustrate what they believe happened on Day 1, Day 2, etc. Bring your reading glasses along if you need them because this museum is not a great believer in interactive exhibits. There's a LOT of text to read. Not really a kids sort of place.Once the days of creation are covered the next rooms contain explanations as to why all fossils were created in one day, why carbon 14 dating techniques cannot be used to date objects, why there were ice ages, how the flood happened and other subjects. Generally, but not always, the presentation of the creationist point of view on a particular subject will be compared with a more generally accepted point of view on the same subject together with an explanation of why the latter is not valid. This is not a museum which can be "toured" briefly - it takes a lot of concentration to read the various explanations. There are ample supplied of free brochures outlining the creationist stand point in the rooms and a large bookstore at the entrance. The staff manning the bookstore are very helpful and do not actively proselytize the visitors.
