paraiso vineyards

We enjoyed a great view and tasting at Paraiso and purchased several bottles to ship back home! Of all the wineries we visited on our CA trip, this was one of our favorites. A family owned winery, we dealt directly with one of the owners - Jennifer - as she was so kind to set up a visit for us even though they were closed that day. A great view and the wines match the view - wonderful!

The winery is in the San Lucia Highlands. The have a dry Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinots, Zin and Port. All were very nice. The server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The winery is picturesque with a lovely view of the mountains and vineyards.

I just love this place. The Tasting room Mascot greets you in the parking lot! The view from here is amazing, I enjoyed the Balcony too. The Santa Lucia Highlands are a little off the beat and path--- the great part is you have this place to yourself during the week days. The wines here are excellent. The Pinots have a nice fruity taste with just a touch of earthy flavor, the Riesling is made in a dry style suitable for having with Seafood or your favorite Asian Food but the show stopper was the Port. I wish I had bought more of the Port. It tasted more like a traditional port from Portugal. My wife loves this wine.....
