It was a wonderful day when the Cheese Shop came to Sutter Creek. That's where we go when we run out of cheese. It is so popular with our friends and family that it has become a tradition to exchange gift certificates to the Cheese Shoppe for the holidays! As soon as you walk in, you are presented with samples of all kinds of cheeses to broaden your cheese experience; this strategy exposed me to the plethora of cheeses available and moved me beyond my tried and true.

We stopped in to see if we could find some cheese to pair with a lamb shank leftover ffom the prior evening;s dinner. The owner (a former chef) was working and he suggested a cheese that ended up being perfect. He was knowlegeable and very friendly. He and his wife also own Miller Wine Works (also in Sutter Creek). It has very good wines and is well worth a visit.

I'm a huge fan of stinky cheeses. Just happened to stumble upon this cheese shop while walking around the Sutter Creek main street. Super glad I did! The people who work here are very interested in helping you figure out what YOU like. They don't try to push anything on you. I was a bit hesistant and didn't really know where to begin, and the lady that helped me walked me through the whole process and found me some great cheeses to try. I ended up with two very unique cheeses that I would not have found anywhere else really. Definitely would return if I was in the area!

This little shop is really first rate! A great selection of cheeses, and other merchandise, for sale. Excellent service and generous tastings with info given to customers. Not inexpensive, but well worth a visit. A local favorite for all occasions.

Wonderful destination. I've come to Sutter Creek just to visit here and it's always a good time. Huge selection of great cheeses from the world over. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Wonderful owner. A little boutique made from passion that will keep you coming back.

I read other reviewers on Tripadvisor and it made me want to go to Sutter Creek if only to visit the Cheese Shoppe. We were not disappointed. We must have tasted 35 different cheeses and the Sales Representative described each one, it's Country of origin and it's potential uses. It was educational and thoroughly delightful! After much consideration, we left with 3 wonderful cheeses and have thoroughly enjoyed them! I would recommend this shop to those who truly love cheese, who are learning about cheese, who like to incorporate cheese into their cooking, or who are looking to build a cheese board for a special event.

I have been to Sutter Creek Cheese Shoppe twice now with the same group of friends. We enjoy sampling their cheese and it is all amazingly good. They have a wonderful variety and we always buy quite a bit. They are friendly and helpful and we always enjoy stopping in when we are in Sutter Creek. This last time they had homemade cream cheese yum!

Just returned after a wonderful day in Sutter Creek. The Cheese Shoppe didn't disappoint with it's amazing amount of different cheeses from around the world. As we live in the UK we are very lucky to have some delicious cheeses from our home country as well as many from various countries in Europe and some of those are available for tasting in Kathy's shop but she also has many cheeses from various parts of the USA and Australia too and we loved many of the California Cheeses. We were lucky to go in at a quiet time and had a long chat with Kathy who being the proprietor and cheesemonger had a good knowledge of the cheeses she stocked and she gave us tasters of many of her cheeses. We went away very happy with our purchase and would recommend you visit her if you are in the area.

Kind of pricy and the choices were limited. Would be nice if they offered some samples to taste. Some nice gift items,though.

Loved the cheese shop and the owner was terrific. Lots of info and samples to try. We ended up buying at least 5 different cheeses and have loved each one.

Okay, so I could eat my way through a cheese shop!The staff was EXTREMELY helpful and knew details about everything in the store!We bought some.. and will come back for more!mmmmmm..... Cheeeeeeese! I LOVE IT!

My husband and I dropped in to this awesome little cheese shop and thought we'd been transported back to France. The lovely shop keeper could not have been nicer and let us try half of the cheese in the case. We chatted and sampled and chatted some more. In the end we bought several selections. A few old favorites and a few new discoveries. The prices were very fair - especially considering the out of the way location. The store sells all sorts of other items as well - breads, crackers, cheese accouterments and other lovelies. The only bad part of going in this store is there is so much to love you'll have a hard time deciding what to take home! We will absolutely return the next time we're in the area!
