As the review a few places down says, this place is perfect for most any type of activity that you enjoy. Everyone is super friendly, and its always clean and comfortable. We love the water, our kids beg to spend our free time there. Truly worth the price.
Drove through today to check out the sites. It is a private membership my husband and I are looking into.looks like s fun place to bbqs, lots of trails for walking and nice camp sites.
My home away from home! Very well groomed trail for what ever your activity of choice. No matter who else is out you still feel like you have the place to yourself. Very private and safe environment. Owners and staff are amazing!
We went there for an event. It seemed really nice even though it is way off the beaten path. When we tried to return a few weeks later, the gates were locked and a sign warned that only members were allowed inside. A quick look at the website showed it to be a members only type venue. I wish that I knew more, but it is not worth my time to hunt down the information.
For motorized watersports (wakeboarding, etc) - please call ahead the office prior to going there to get more info. We didn't do that ourselves so can't say much on that. Also, calling ahead helps you to know what events they have scheduled for the day you are going. They rent some of the areas for weddings/parties and they may not be accessible to you on that day (boy scouts also go here). Our family and another went together to spend a Saturday at Eagal Lakes, there is a fee so drop-by the office first. We had kids ranging from 3 to 7. Barefoot on the sand, they had a blast building sand castles and the older kids had fun jumping feet first into the lake to swim. There is a paddle boat (for-rent) we used to ride across the lake. You can also bring swim noodles and other inflatable water ride-ons.The staff will tell you the condition of the San Joaquin river if the current flow is too fast (the main beach is fronting the river) and you can ask about other safety-related stuff. There is another beach area near the office that fronts an enclosed man-made lake. Then, there is a separate private lake where you can fish without a license - also good for swimming but probably deeper since it is a fishing area. I found this area quietest and more secluded, a nice retreat. We didn't hike nor bike this time (no time since kids wanted to play in the sand and swim all day). But I saw part of the hiking trail, there is an elevated portion (fishing lake area) where you can see the farm/plains with the mountains/hills at the background, must be beautiful at sunset. All the beaches/lakes are connected by hiking/biking trails. The trails have indigenous trees/shrubs that grow mainly in Central Valley and some local critters call it home. The owners are on-hand to tell you more about the trails if you are interested. No restaurant onsite, they do have vending machine for soda/water/ice. Be sure to pack your own lunch/drinks/snacks. We got KFC chicken/sides in Tracy before driving to the lakes. You can also stop at a Tracy Savemart/Safeway to buy picnic supplies. No shower/changing facilities, only portable toilet. There is a faucet close to the beach area for rinsing off the sand.
