Experienced staff, who didn't seem interested in engaging with us. They were more interested in talking to each other, which made the experience less fun. The dive however, was awesome. Reasonably priced and a pretty good experience.

Very friendly staff - they have obviously done this a hundred times in the past, yet they had all the patience in the world to deal with our excitement and questions. We both jumped, but we were told over and over that it was OK if we backed out. We booked our skydive last minute and got a space the next day. We don't regret this!

Of course we regret that you could not give us a "positive 5 star review", but what we regret much more is that we could not meet your expectations. On behalf of the entire Skydive Surfcity team, I would like to express my sincere apologies. I have done more than 7000 tandem jumps in New Zealand myself and I know how some of the companies over there set the bar pretty high. This is exactly what we are aiming for with the Skydive Surfcity project here in Santa Cruz : we want to excel in safety, beautiful views, short wait times, and of course the overall customer experience. I believe we are successful as we do have an outstanding safety record, some of the most experienced instructors on staff, state of the art equipment, spectacular ocean views, short wait times and we do strive to have outstanding customer service. I understand that in terms of customers service we must have dropped the ball when you were our guests. There is not much we can say to remedy this at this stage. We are sorry and really grateful that you are pointing this out to us. No being welcomed warmly is inexcusable and not having the instructors introduce themselves is far from what we expect from them. Would you mind emailing me the date that you were here. I would like to know who was working the front desk so I can work with them (hopefully it was not me:-) my email address is Volker(at)skydivesurfcity.com I have already spoken to the 2 instructors! You provided other very valuable input as well: the USP stick idea is simple but great and long over due. We will get this taken care of and will offer USB sticks as an option. You would be surprised about how many people still request a DVD but again making it an option is a great idea. While we regret that we could not meet and exceed all your expectations we are stoked that you appreciated the amazing coastal views and were happy with the professionalism (in terms of skydiving safety) of our instructors. My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary with our first skydive and Caleb and Eric were amazing jump partners. Unfortunately the beach landing wasnt available but we were notified before purchase but we still were able to jump over the ocean which was incredible. I highly recommend this place and look forward to future visits! thank you guys!

I rarely write reviews, but it is very important to recognise the people working hard to give a good experience/memory plus I took the decision to go there based on this website reviews, so its only fair that I also give feedback for future people looking for the same service.I jumped with my friend on June 7th, the instructors were Alex(Me) and Caleb(my friend).Due to heavy traffic we couldn't make it to our appointment on time so we called them and theyhelp us to reschedule it for a later jump(drove from SFO).Everybody was super helpful,at the moment we arrived everybody was super nice! you really feel comfortable and safe.I hope to do my second jump with them or somebody as professional as they were.

We're a couple of virgin skydivers and were made to feel very comfortable. Amazing facilities, people were so friendly and Natasha on reception desk is absolutely lovely. Caleb and Volker were our jumpers and they made us so relaxed and we felt really safe, but also had such a laugh.Views were amazing, the whole experience is just completely indescribable! If you're contemplating doing a sky dive then do it in Santa Cruz and do it with these guys, you won't regret it.

I had such an amazing first experience with the crew at Skydive Surfcity !! Everybody was welcoming, knowledgeable and very experienced. My tandem master was Caleb. Awesome guy ! He pointed out beautiful sights as we were in the plane, truly amazing ! He asked if I wanted to do flips out of the plane... of course I do !!! The freefall was wild !! The view... INCREDIBLE !! What a rush !! We did some awesome spins and tricks ! I highly recommend skydive surfcity if you're going to jump. Absolutely the experience of a lifetime ! Get the video and the pictures. It's so fun to relive every moment and share it with friends and family !Thank you Skydive Surfcity for for such a positive and memorable experience ! See you all again soon !

A coworker/friend and I had decided to go sky diving for his birthday. After many hours of shopping around online, we decided on Skydive Surfcity. Let me tell you this was the best decision we ever. The staff was awesome, our Jump Masters were awesome, our plane ride up was awesome, our sky dive was awesome. PURE ADRENALINE! It was a clear beautiful day (in this area its the norm). I will definitely recommend this, and be going again.

This was my first dive and I was very excited - and these guys didnt disappoint. They are very professional and have lots of experience. The skydiving experience, the videos, etc were top notch. The views during the skydive are breath taking - I went on a beautiful sunny day and had a wonderful view of the coastline, the ocean and the beach. The barefoot landing on the beach is the icing on the cake.

This was something different. Never thought I would ever jump out of a plane. I love doing extreme stuff but I am definitely not good with heights. Made an appointment anyways with my best friend. We showed up 1 hour early and the we hung out at their office. Really great vibe and so much fun seeing all the other jumpers coming back from their skydives. We kind of got the before and after view!! We got finally geared up about 10 minutes after our appointment. Training was fast, good and fun.My instructor kept pretending that it was his first jump too. It took about another 10 minutes before we were in the plane. The rest is history: Awesome views, unbelievable adrenaline rush when flipping, soaring down slowly.....did I mention the views?? :-) Soft tip toe landing. My buddies instructor summarized it well" Best fun you can have with your cloths on hahhahahha Am already booked in for my GF birthday in 3 weeks. Skydive Surfcity double thumbs up!

This was my 3rd skydiving experience, and the worst, and most painful experience thusfar. I'm a Registered Nurse, and my patient recommended this place, so I thought I'd check it out... since he told me about the 'barefoot landing on the beach'. Let me first say... this was not even offered when I went. The first time I booked, my dive was canceled 30 minutes prior to take off! Yah... I showed up, and the receptionist says, "Did you get my message, the flight was canceled due to weather". How nice... she called and canceled 30 minutes prior, while I was in transit. But I gave them another try. I booked 2 weeks later, and they fit me in that same day. I was given almost NO instruction, but the guide (Bill, who was hired from out of state for the summer) was nice, so I gave him a break. The plane was the smallest I've ever seen... big enough for only 4... maybe 6 at most. The thing that I want to make the most mention of is this... I was NOT TOLD that we were going to land on our BUM... ie: our BUTT until we were in the AIR.. meaning... we had already JUMPED from the plane. WHAT? So... While we were already midair, I hear the guide say to me, "Now we're going to learn how to land on our butt". Say What? I've never heard such a thing!!! I've only landed on my feet, and what if I had back problems? Even if I didn't... this is only asking for new ones! So... We land in a field full of hard dirt, with thorns... on our butts... and... I crack my coccyx. I literally immediately go to my chiropractor within the hour to check my spine, I end up on ice for the entire day, and see my physician, on pain medication, and off work. What the heck is this company thinking? I'm technically a Legal Nurse Consultant, and I can say this is total Malpractice... the company was completely negligent, they did not do any safety teaching/training, they didn't disclose we were landing on our bum until AFTER the jump... Would I recommend this place? NO WAY! I can also mention minor detail such as I was the second to jump out of the plane, but the first to land... which was disappointing, or that the pilot was so focused on her tips, but that pales in comparison to a cracked coccyx I received, don't you think?

Its amazing how amazing this place and entire staff are! I have gone skydiving before at a few different places and I loved it each time. However this place took it to a whole new level! Everyone was excellent from the front desk girl ( very cute English gal) to my experienced fun filled instructor Volker. I have to mention the bare foot on the beach can not be beat as far as location goes but its the staff and the service that made this place one ill never forget! I love Skydive Surfcity! Thanks you to all the staff for the mind blowing experience here!!!! I will be back!
