Beautiful trails and views of the Sound, and a dog friendly beach. The Japanese Internment memorial is also very moving.and educational.
You may rent a kayak on the ferry side of Eagle Harbor or drive around in about a 9 minute drive from the ferry terminal. This park is adjacent to the Japanese American Exclusion Memorial. There is parking with access to both the park and the Memorial Wall site. It is a tidal beach right on Puget Sound with views of downtown Seattle as well as facing the town of Winslow. You're in luck because you can find wonderful items to create a picnic lunch at the Town and Country Market in their self serve deli, pre-made sandwiches, and many choices of organic food items. As you exit the store turn left and walk down to the waterfront past the children's playground and down to the dock where you can rent kayaks and paddle across the harbor to the park. Simply pull the kayak up on shore - remember to watch the tide - and disembark to enjoy a warm and sunny summer afternoon. If you are walking down to the park from the parking lot the path is quite close and not too difficult to walk on. I find it a slightly difficult transition from the path to the beach but we're talking 5 + feet. The further you walk out to the point the lovelier the sand gets. There is no charge for the park or the memorial Wall area and the park department maintains the area quite frequently.
One can go on the trail walk and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. This park is just next to the Japanese American memorial and there is parking lot too. Since the place is in the forest, the trail walk will be an attraction.
