We tried Cooper the first spring it was open to the public, and came away underwhelmed. But we were in the valley in late October for another wine event, and decided to give Cooper another try. We walked into the tasting room to find it was almost full of barrels, hoses snaked around, evidence of the crush everywhere we looked. Cool... now it looks like a winery should! We pulled stools up to the bar and joined the couple already there, and worked our way through the wines. The winery dog came in and out, and we spent a very nice hour+ there. I like this sort of winery, where the focus is on the wines, not on a fancy tasting room. Where the person pouring the wines actually know all about the wines, because they helped make them. I'll definitely make Cooper a regular stop on my wine trail.

It was just typical. Warehouse type tasting room. Best part, was that the proprietor very nice and for week day travelers it is open daily.

Came a year before and liked the winery dog, and the owner who was pouring that we joined the club and came back this year with our dogs to taste again. Friendly and knowledgeable pourers. Big reds - priced appropriately - $10 tasting and $5 goes to charity and $5 toward a purchase. Right on the corner as you head onto Red Mountain.

This winery has an industrial chic ambiance to it. A small bar towards the back of the big warehouse room serves as the tasting area. The owner, Neil, is super friendly and sassy. The room has many photos from wine club members photographing a Cooper wine bottle at famous landmarks around the world: Mykonos; Key West; Grand Canyon. Nice touch!We stopped in on a June afternoon, lots of people were in for tasting. $10 fee, with $5 applied towards purchase and the other $5 going towards a local charity.Some of the wines tasted were outstanding: 2011 L'inizio red blend and the estate merlot.Be sure to meet the winery dog. A very friendly chocolate lab.
