Great fishing with access for everyone. Out of town yet not far. Quiet location. Have covered area set up for fishing along the bank of the chehalis River have a paved trail for walking biking and is fully ;handicap acessible.
We have used This place for community BBQs, outdoor birthday parties, camping, fishing, boat launch and bike riding/walking. It's clean, the caretakers are on site and friendly.just wonderful.
We had electric and water but no sewer which was OK because there was a dump station we used on our way out. The bathroom and showers were clean and the hot water was plentiful for the great price of 25 cents. (five minutes doesn't seem like much but I was even able to wash my hair in that time). The best part about the site was the adjacent surroundings. We were next to the lake and there was a nice path all the way around. Fishing was allowed but I didn't see anyone swimming. The grounds were dry grass with some bushes here and there, nothing fancy. But for the most part it was quiet and comfortable.
This place is great in the spring! If you like to fish, there is a boat launch and fish cleaning station right on the Chehalis River. I like to go on the walking trail in the early spring to see the skunk cabbage blooms so I know that Spring is coming! My grandsons like the boat dock area which shifts height with the tides. A great closeup of a lovely estuary!
This is a favorite local camping area and nature walk, especially during the wet days. The trail is wonderfully maintained year round, so is easy to get that exercise walk year round. You will see local flora and fauna, bald eagles, osprey, and wild duck in the small lake.
Friends Landing is a great place to go for a walk. There is a path that goes around Lake Quigg that is handicap accessible; someone with a wheelchair would enjoy being able to fish and enjoy the scenery. There is an abundance of wild bunnies and birds. There is also boating ramps to access Lake Quigg for fishing (nonmotorized) and the Chehalis river. There is a nice bathroom facility and campground with RV hook ups and more rustic spots for tent camping. Friends Landing is a hidden gem!
Nice place for a good walk, the walk all the way around is paved and there are several places to sit and take in the view. I've never camped here.
I have visited Friends Landing twice and plan to visit again in September. The rude review by ratman2_9 is entirely uncalled for............he wasn't a registered guest nor was he entitled to Friends Landing facilities.
We have stayed here many times, the staff are friendly and quite helpful, access for my wheelchair bound husband is amazing. Weekends are crowded, quite crowded. The weekj days are good, no children, or rarely. The only drawback is the driving distance to stores etc.
We have stayed there several times and highly recommend it. The park is very clean and the staff are friendly. There is a great paved path that goes around Lake Quigg that is about a 45 minute walk thru the trees with benches along the way to sit and enjoy the views. The park is completely wheel chair friendly. There are several docks both on the lake and on the Chehalis river to fish from. We have seen Bald Eagles several times while staying there.Very relaxing.
I would not recommend this place for any visitors as the grey haired, balded gentlmen that was the camp host was very unfriendly. We went there to use their restroom and shower facility and he stated to us that this facility was for campers only. We in turn stated to him that we were willing to make a donation and he stated this place is for campers only. We were disappointed about the camp hose behavior towards us and decided to utilize their restroom and show faciltiy. Low and behold the shower were cold after we put our quarters in and we then left disappointed due to the demeanor and behavior of the camp host.
