During the weekend we camped at Hause Creek alongside Tieton River. Our campsite was 22 but figured out that site # 17, 18, 19 were the best. On the recreation booking site, the site map showed this site to be behind the restroom, but actually the restrooms are pretty far. The campground has lot of privacy between adjacent sites. When we reached there, we were welcomed a small snake that slithered around our car and then finally vanished in the bushes! Well, that was the only wild creature we saw. The other regular visitors were only squirrels and butterflies. There was a fire restriction in place so we could not use our charcoal grill or have campfires. Thankfully we had our propane gas single burner stove so we used that. Lesson learnt, always carry gas incase of fire restrictions or have ready-to-eat food.I must alert you if it is your first time to the place, that the roads are very windy after crossing Mt. Rainier park and may cause some nausea. Guess, best is to follow the speed limits and be at 40 mph at the turns. The roads being vacant for stretches, one may get tempted to accelerate and reduce travel time. The restrooms are the flush toilets and were clean but do remember to take your handwash. We went to Rimrock lake recreation park and did some photography there. There is an off-shoot from US-12 a few miles away from the campground where you can drive leisurely and enjoy the view and stop at will for the clicks! Of course at some places, there are the "Rocks" sign. We even found an elk in the middle of the road. The road is about 12 miles long before it reconnects to US-12. There are many hike trails around. There is Rimrock grocery about 3 miles from the campground in case you wish to buy gas or snacks. It is open till 10 pm.We had a great time at the camp. I posted lot of pictures on my blogpost: http://jaishrie.blogspot.com/2014/07/river-side-camping-hause-creek.html
