Nice area for a walk thru nature. Fun boat landing, nice to watch the boats go in and out. When the tide is out great beach walk. Campsites clean and not over crowded.

Jarrell Cove is a wonderful marine camping park on Harstine Island. It is literally just down the road from our home so it is a great place to do a shake down on the trailer for the year. They have 2 sites with electricity/water and the rest are dry camps. You can reserve one of the wet camp sites and a couple of the dry camp sites. Otherwise, it is first come, first serve. The camp is a lovely site. It is right on the water and there are 2 dedicated docks for marine traffic. The bathrooms are lovely, clean, and well maintained. There is a shower that will provide 3 minutes of lovely hot water for 50 cents. Nice bathroom stalls and sinks with an actual mirror for tooth brushing and primping. You can buy wood on site for a campfire or bring your own. Their are ample water pumps throughout the park. Each site has a huge table with benches and a campfire ring with a grill top. Some of the sites are better than others for tents. Most sites have a really good place for a tent. It is hard to find a site that will accommodate more than one tent easily though. A real gem is site #23 on the water. This site has a dedicated tent site that is very cushy. The view is fabulous. You will have to park your car at the top and hike down the trail with all of your stuff. There is a dedicated parking lot for sites that cannot accommodate vehicles. Most mornings, the deer come down to the center of the camping areas and eat apples off the trees. There is a camp host that lives on site and employees who seem very competent. If you are looking for just a kayak camping site, this is it. There is one site that is reserved for folks that arrive by water. This park is part of the marine camping trail experience. This is really one of my favorite parks. It is quiet and lovely. Costs for a camping site run 24 dollars. With electric and water, the site runs 35 dollars. This would be a fabulous spot to have a large family reunion of campers or a special celebration of some kind. They have 2 day picnic shelters with camping grills, ample tables, horseshoes, etc. Can you tell that I just love Jarrell Cove. I hope that you do to.

I love this little park. We have been going for years, Usually during the fall as the apples are ripe, and the deer come out to eat them. Very well kept up, Great campsites, and modern bathroom facilities. Amazing to just walk and see the wild life, and just relax.

An ancient apple orchard where you can pitch your tent; docks for the time-honored occupations of watching seabirds, otters and seals (tho' welcoming to sailors, boaters, and kayakers) -- Jarrell Cove is a destination for its own charms or as a base for further South Sound explorations (Harstine Island State park offers a exquisite gulch hike just a couple of miles away; there is clamming on Harstine, and the Spencer Lake Grill is a retro and enjoyable destination.) On our visit, the park was staffed primarily by down-home friendly park hosts, and our fellow campers ranged from young couples, through extended families with young children who relished the setting, to older families. In addition to the orchard sites, there are wooded sites and one waterfront site reserved for person-powered vessels.

This is a lovely natural area with views of the Olympic Mountains, Puget Sound, and forest areas. Either boat access or a short drive from Highway 3 this park is a real undiscovered south sound jewel. Take a picnic and hike the trails or stop at Spencer Lake Grill or the Olympic Bakery.
