Great venue for music... Beautiful location on the Dan River...Real laid back..Outside Balcony right on the river...Many varieties of beer and wine.. A must go if you are in the area..Campground near by..Fee if there is a band but well worth it..

Very nice club (bar) a little more upscale than the couple of other bars in the area. Music is kind a low keyed but very nice. Great place to bring someone to enjoy the atmosphere ... right on the Dan River. Lots of choices in beer and wine. I give it 2 thumbs up !!!Fee only when there is a band.

My son and I spent the weekend hiking in the park and were referred to the Green Heron Club by our hosts at Singletree Gun & Plough (q.v.). Fortunately, they gave us good directions for finding the place since it's a bit off the beaten path. It was obvious when we got there that almost all of the clientele were regulars. Even so, they made us feel right at home. The bartender greeted us by name on our arrival and had been told to expect us. A delicious and very reasonably-priced catfish dinner was catered in by a local restaurant. There were excellent craft beers on tap and the music (Steph & the Boyfriends) was really great. This is definitely a one-of-a-kind bar well worth the trouble of finding it!
