This is a great park, with lots of options. We took the informative nature trail and enjoyed learning and the walking on a quiet beautiful Saturday morning, then hiked along the lakefront watching the sailboats work, and finally took some trails through the woods before heading on to other duties of the day. The kids flying kites on the large open grassy area, the blue heron feeding in the shallows, the grasshoppers dodging the bluebirds and others birds in the brushy areas, and the mountain bikers each found something to like here. And we were no exception, liking them all.

This place has kayak and paddle boat rentals, a trail that goes around the lake and a boat launch. It's a nice quiet area that also has bike trails.

Easy access, peaceful views, walking trails and singing birds make this a wonderfully relaxing spot. A short distance from RDU airport, I540 and I40, it's like stepping into another world from everyday hustle and bustle. Perfect stress relief Rx after a hectic workday; short stroll down to the lake to view the setting sun and listen to natures soothing serenade.

Lake Crabtree County Park is located in Morrisvile and is convenient to Raleigh, Cary and Durham, the triangular cities in North Carolina.This is a very big park of 215 acres and adjacent to the 520 acre flood control lake. This park offers a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors to enjoy.The Park has two playgrounds. The Tot Lot for children of 2-5 years and the Kids Lot for 5-12 years. However the playgrounds are not supervised by park staff and we as parents/guardians have to supervise children activities.Though the park offers public boat launch, it is open only on week ends, Friday to Sunday from morning 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM. Unfortunately, we went on a Thursday and hence could not enjoy boat ride. However, we spent some good time in the park...This park is known as An oasis in the heart of the Triangle. This is open from 8.00 AM to Sunset on all days of the week. The park follows Rules and Regulations to ensure safety and at the same time enjoyment because they go hand in hand here.

Really close to RDU airport and Downtown. Nice place to unwind and walk. If you can, get some take out food and eat at one of their picnic areas overlooking the lake. Then you can take a short or long walk on their many trails.

What a wonderful find! We were invited for a cook-out and it was a beautiful area. Easy to find, picnic shelters, sand volleyball court, playground, fishing pier, kayaks, paddle boats.....a great way to spend an afternoon! We had a wonderful time!
