Very clean and seating was comfortable...enjoyed a concert here...theater is located in the historical district of Shelby
Went to see Chonda Pierce, had great seats. Theater is perfect size, there are no bad seats. Temperature was very comfortable.Clean auditorium and rest rooms
The art deco theatre is fully restored and gorgeous. A great place for an event or wedding. Really good concerts coming up. They released a public art project of record albums showcasing Don Gibson's hit songs.
Quite by accident I found out about a group called the Cleverly's that was to perform at the Don Gibson Theater. My wife and I got tickets, and it was easy hour drive from Greenville, SC.The theater seats about 400, and I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. You can order tickets online, but the cheapest and easiest way is to call the box office. They were very helpful, and also made us aware of local restaurants within close walking distance. The theater has a lounge area off to the side, with live music before the main doors open. Drinks are available. The interior looks very new and seats are comfortable. Acoustics are good, not great. However our perception may be due to the fact we were sitting next to one of the walls. The only negative is that they don't appear to advertise their shows in Greenville. Of course, now I will check their webpage on a regular basis.
The Don Gibson Theater is just of many reasons to visit Shelby. The musical town shows it musical roots with great regional and national acts that perform in the theater. I was there for the "Life in the Carolina" Shelby Square event and it was a great night of storytelling, music and liver mush. The venue is beautiful and the perfect place for musicians to perform in. I am so impressed that Shelby has such a great place to pay tribute to one of the world's greatest song writers. Shelby should be very proud.
This is a rather new, well managed facility to be in a small town like Shelby. The fare is a good variety of concerts including some real headliners with an emphasis on country western.
This 400 hundred seat theater is a great spot to enjoy any entertainment. We a have attended several shows of various kinds, the last one being James Gregory. Every seat is a good one.
My wife and I recently attended the Colin Hay concert at The Don Gibson Theater. They have done a very good job of restoring this old theater. The theater holds 400, so there aren't any bad seats in the house. There are a lot of parking spots very close to the theater. There are also a lot of restaurants within a short distance. A surprising gem in Shelby. We will definitely attend more concerts.
This used to be the old Flick Theater. The folks there now really did a good job restoring that place. Looks great. They ran The Blues Brothers recently and I decided to go. I had a great time. The place was spotless. Looked GREAT. I highly recommend it.
