Although not yet a great boardwalk every year it improves and it has made it fun to look forward to returning and seeing the growth. This year at one end they were building a Marriott which should improve things dramatically in Carolina Beach.

Don't miss the Boardwalk while in Carolina Beach. Just a fun place to hang out, nightly events during the summer, an the town does a great job. Fireworks on Thursday, and so much more. Great little gift shops, fun munchies, and never miss Britts Donuts!!

Not much to see or do as half of the boardwoal had been burnt down in a recent fire. The few place not impacted by the fire were closed for the season - unless it was a bar.

It was a very nice place to walk around w/ plenty of shops and a beautiful view of the water. There were people sitting on the balcony of restaurant overlooking the water and on docked boats having meals.A lot of positive energy.

Nice little stroll along beach with beachy shops and eateries. A good place to stroll on a not-so-sunny day. Be sure to stop and treat yourself to a hot donut at Britt's!

Our 5 y.o. granddaughter, our daughter and my husband and I had a ball down there. We watched the "kids" going on the rides screaming and having a ball. The typical snacks were available, but we HAD to get some BRITTS donuts! Yummmmmm. THE BEST! And it's right on the water, so when you go up in a ride, you see the ocean! On Thurs. nights they had a free band to dance or keep time with. Just a nice family park. Ride operators were helpful and polite when we had questions. Nice to have this attraction around here.

You never even have to leave, if you get a room close by. Lots of restaurants, bars, music, and beach shopping. And not too crowded!

Boardwalk and attractions at Carolina Beach are family friendly. My wife and 2 boys had a great time; however, we discovered quickly that smack dab in the middle of the amusement rides is a sewer lift station. Not a big deal -- unless you were downwind!

Really enjoyed. A true throw back. Wonderful family atmosphere within walking distance of where we stayed.

If you think about the million dollar homes and condos nearby, it becomes painfully obvious that tax dollars are not being spent on the heart of the city. Which is a huge disappointment. Carolina Beach could be a real gem. And it some ways it really is. The buildings are in bad need of renovation and painting. Most of the businesses are closed and the ones that are open with the exception of Brit's and Krazy Kones are staffed by kids who couldn't care less about being there. The amusement park rides are a joke and look dangerous. Even my kids refused to ride the rides out of fear of the way the rides looked and the how most of the operators looked like paroled felons. We were coming here for years during the April months when everything is normally closed. So my kids were really looking forward to seeing the boardwalk area during the summer months. We got here in August and what a huge disappointment. We had a better time at Kure Beach at night. Note to City planners: Your city doesn't need another shop filled with cheap beach trinkets being sold at high prices. It needs that boardwalk revitalized with a fresh new look and some police enforcement around some of the bars. There shouldn't be a biker bar with patrons wearing gang colors 3 feet from where you want families to enjoy a night out. There really is no excuse for this if you pick up a real estate pamphlet and see that most of the properties that are for sale nearby the boardwalk are going for over 2 million dollars. That's a lot of tax revenue. On the positive side, the fireworks shows on Thursday nights during the summer are a nice treat.

This "Boardwalk" is a dilapidated collection of odd buildings populated by individuals who appear to be either out of work or otherwise disengaged from reality. Many of the businesses were closed, Britt's donuts was not open and the primarily younger people who were there appeared to be focused on drinking, smoking, swearing, spitting and loitering. We saw a lot of trash (i.e. empty drink cups). The rides were not working so there was nothing to entice families to visit this area.We would never return to this "Boardwalk" and recommend that others approach it with the understanding that this is not in any way similar to Myrtle Beach, Rehobeth Beach or any other interesting beach walk. You cannot even see the ocean from this area.

Very old and somewhat run down! Went for purpose of acquiring Brits Donuts and they were closed. Not much else there!

This isn't much of a boardwalk. If you are looking for a true beach boardwalk, or local treasure shops ( St. Augustine, FL) you probably need to go elsewhere. Get there, get your doughnut and head back to the beach.

If you have ever been to a real boardwalk - say in NJ or Maryland - don't bother with this concrete block with an old arcade and a few old rides. The beach itself is lovely but the boardwalk was a BOREDwalk.
