french lick west baden museum

We really enjoyed this little museum. The gentleman working there could not have been more accommodating and took the time to give all the visitors a person tour. It was great to learn about the rich and interesting history of the area. My daughters loved the circus diorama and we spent quite a bit of time looking at all the details. Definitely worth a visit because it gives a lot of context to the area.

My wife and I spent over 3 ours getting a very comprehensive review of the area and it's history. The buffalo lick, the corrupt politicians who ran gambling in the towns for years were interesting. The sale of a special water Plato water" for years was helpful to economy for years. The stories about the circus's coming to the area over winter and the huge model circus was a delight

If you are in the area and at all interested in the fascinating history of the two hotels, give the museum a little bit of your time. They have artifacts, pictures and a well informed staff.

My family has been coming to French Lick for the last eight years. We've become attached to the area an have become fascinated with the historical aspect. Because of the emotional connection we really enjoyed this visit. Its amazing how much has happened over the last 100+ years in this rural small town. Not a big museum but take the tour and allow the guide to inform you.

We stayed at the French Lick Resort Hotel for Thanksgiving. We were so curious about the history of the area since we had never been there before. The museum was right down the street. We were the only ones there and the lady working there was wonderful. Gave us lots of extra information and was happy to answer any questions we had. So glad we took the time to do this. It's not a huge museum but, fun and informative.
