Just returned from 3rd trip to RSC with overnight stay. Shouldn't complain as wife hit a progressive poker slot for $1200+, but a couple things irked me. First was bad experience @ Queen City Market. She had a Skyline Coney that had almost no chili on it - the bun was barely stained. I had a Tuna Croissant (although pricing is ballpark high you get the fixings in a cup to build yourself). The tuna was straight from the can with absolutely no mixing or stirring and had been covered with a sheen of mayonnaise and then (from taste) doused with vinegar. When she hit her machine she immediately lit the "Attendant Call Light" and 40 minutes later had to flag down a drink waitress to have someone see to her winnings. Prior trips were much better, so hope this was not currently common.
The carpeting throughout the casino and in all rooms needs replacing or cleaning. Stains in the hotel rooms have never been taken care of and dried GUM is on the carpeting throughout the casino. Breakfast buffet is more than adequate. Dinner buffet is quite lacking.
I liked the casino because it was clean, quiet, and fun. didn't take a lot of money to play. very entertaining and fun and exciting and relaxing
No crowds at all. Convenient to my room. Free soft drinks and a choice of restaurants under one roof.
To start with, the drive there is beautiful. Parking was excellent, free valet. I started my evening with the buffet for dinner. It was excellent. The prime rib melted in your mouth. The alligator was a little dry, but overall a great meal. The casino was just fun. Well maintained, clean and nice atmosphere. Staff was helpful and courteous. Had a lot of fun. Free soft drinks and a wide range of games. You have to check this place out!
This place might of had it day in the past but it needs a resurrection!Start off nice... The staff was politeMachines seemed to be in poor shape, we were only there for about 2 hours and in that time we had issues 3 times which took 10-20 minutes to get corrected. The place just seemed to be a bit run down. The music selection was not good, if it's not bad enough that I'm not making money i was even more depressed listening to the music.
The staff are friendly, the games in good working order, the food is great, the rooms are clean, and the atmosphere is homey. I feel very safe at this casino, too. Especially great for gamers is the selection of video poker machines. There are several choices for food; buffet, marketplace, and a sandwich shop in the casino. They also have a workout room, indoor pool, and hot tub. Great place to relax and enjoy yourself.
Not really kept in good shape. They have free sodas which is good, but if there are no cups available, it is not good. Half of the ticket redemption machines were down. Funny that gambling on Christmas day is OK but they can't sell you a beer. Most importantly though is website need changed on directions to show the 30 minute detour coming from the south. We did win money though.
One of the best Scottish links courses I've played on in the mid-west. Fairways & greens in great condition in the fall when we played. Plenty of waste bunkers, traps, water, & nasty grass wastes to make for a challenging round. Hitting your drives on the fairway a must.Quite a few tees to compensate for different skill levels.Worth a drive to this rural location. Excellent golf carts with free GPS included in the reasonable fee.
Recently booked this resort for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived met with friendly staff and our room was MOST EXCELLENT thanks to their staff (Kacey & Melissa L) - THE BEST decorators. Most memorable place to visit and the quaint town of Rising Sun is beautiful and peaceful. Rebooking for our 25th.
Excellent show! This swing band played non-stop for 1 1/2 hours and seemed to have more fun the longer they played. Recommended especially for musicians and dancers. (My husband found his earplugs helpful!)
Great place, with friendly employees. Buffet is a bit pricey for what you get, but still decent food.
Rising Star Casino is a great place to get away and enjoy the casino. I have stayed at the hotel, rooms are very nice. I will be going back!
Very nice place to stay. Myself and three of my friend girls came for the Macy's Music Festival. Rooms were nice and clean and comfortable for 4 people. Even though it was 45 minutes away from the festival in Cincinnati Ohio, I would definitely come to stay again. We enjoyed the peacefulness. They gave us 4 tickets to use at breakfast or dinner. The restaurant had a lot of variety and the food was delicious. It has two hotels facing each other between the road and lots of parking space. Round the clock shuttle between hotels. I enjoyed the casino atmosphere and surround township. Will be back next year for the festival.
Pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel and rooms were attached to this casino. Valet parking, pool, golf and a great buffet. The people here are so friendly and welcoming!
