Great Flea Market, like the Bulk food store, like the cheese factory there are also several good restaurants in the area, a water park for kids, and horse buggy rides
Most of these cars have been moved to the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners Michigan The Gilmore Museum is the 5th largest car museum in the country.
Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum features the largest collection of Hudson Automobiles in the world. The cars are immaculately restored and well displayed and presented. There are several great antique car museums in Northern Indiana (we went to all of them). This ranks with the others and should not be missed. The docent was well informed and added to the experience. While we were there, two couples with two Hudsons were at the museum. They had driven there Hudsons from Iowa to Maine and were headed back home. They added to a great experience!
While searching the web for things to do I ran across and calendar of events and listed the Halloween in the museum. The event was very well organized. I hadn't know about the Hudson Museum until we went there for this event. What a nice museum. I would recommend this place to all automobile enthusiasts.
The worlds largest collection of all Hudson vehicles in one place. An unlikely gem in the middle of horse and buggy (Amish) country. Amassed by a single collector Eldon Hostetler and donated to the city of Shipshewana. Includes over 50 cars from 1909 to 1956, all in great condition...most restored, but a few original. A docent was on site to tell about the cars and unusual features (like wagging tail lights). A few cars on loan to Gilmore Car Museum, near Kalamazoo, Michigan. Other car museums within 50 miles are Auburn Cord Dusenberg museum, Auburn, IN and Studebaker National Museum, South Bend, IN
This is a large collection of Hudsons all owned by the same person. He donated them to the city. The volunteer who walked us thu knew alot about the cars.
Not being a car buff, the hubby wanted to go, I reluctantly went. I have to say I was impressed with the display of vehicles. Although you cannot touch or sit in the vehicles, you are able to get very close up for ohhing and ahhing over the restoration work. I enjoyed the visit and would recommend it.
What a wonderful displays of vintage cars and the story of the owners' inventions of chicken waterers! How wonderful, since I grew up on a farm with a lot of chickens.....Nice and clean, not only will men enjoy this museum...
This is located next to our hotel so decided to check it out. I knew my husband would like it, but I wasn't prepared to enjoy it as much as I did! Over 50 beautiful cars you can walk all around. Allow at least an hour for this. Small entrance fee, but well worth it.
These cars are beautiful! We happened to see them adorned with quilts as we were there for the quilt show. They are worth the visit even without quilts!
Hubbies when to car museum while we were at the quilt show in the same building. Perfect for both of us.
We had been here before but it is so interesting. At this time the Shipshewana Quilt Festival was in progress and quilts were draped over the cars. This is a large collection of cars and very well displayed.
We took photos a have fun.... Prices are great !!!!!! I like all cars and the place close to our hotel
Our seven-year-old had a great time at the museum with his dad and grandpa! There was a variety of displays and some amazing historical cars!
My husband and our bus driver visited here as it was next door to the hotel. Neither came back with rave revues, but the price was good.
