buster keaton museum

For those of you familiar with "pocket parks" this is the museum equivalent. But it is still worth visiting if you are in the area.Buster Keaton was pretty much born in Piqua by accident, with his parents just traveling through performing in a medicine show. There aren't any historic homes here related to him and his festival is located in the nearby city of Iola. However, this museum does tell his story succinctly and the curator is incredibly knowledgeable about Keaton's history vis-a-vis Piqua. I thought his face casting was unusual, and if you have more time than we did, they have his movies on tape to view. A great free museum to stop and see if you enjoy old actors and movie memorabilia.Please note---there is NO sign to indicate that this is a museum. It is a one-room museum located in the Water District building right off the highway leading into town.
