We really enjoyed our visit to this winery. The variety of wine was great. They did not limit you to only 5 or 6 samples like others in the area do. It also was a great value with most bottles of wine priced around $10. The lower level had a variety of fudge, dips, cheese, olive oils and many other local food samples. This was our favorite winery of the 3 we visited on our trip. We will definitely visit again.
For $3 which is a coupon off purchased wine, we were able to sample all of their listed wines which included 30 or more. Good that the winery is now offering the dry red wines which appeals to many who enjoy those wines. the wine maker is from California, so has been making more of the dry reds. Tasted probably 15 or more wines from the dry to semi sweet up to the ports. They also have samples of mustard, vinegars and oils. Again. Great lace to visit during winter.
If you want an awesome shopping experience, check out this winery. Every staff member we encountered was fun and seem to love their job. They have tons of cute gift items and over 50 different wines. The building is beautiful and they even have a distillery. I can't say enough good things about this place. LOVED IT!!!
We've been here multiple times and this is where I started to drink wine as they have a lot of fruit and sweet wines so I'd recommend it for people who aren't that big into wine who want to start. Now my tastes have changed and I'm more of a dry wine drinker and they do have a few of those as well and they are ok. The atmosphere is very neat there and there are plenty of other things to look at. Tasting does cost $3 now but you get a $3 off coupon so if you buy something it's free basically.
There is a lot of wine to taste. The tasting is free. It is always crowded but smooth. Every range of wine is available. The tour was not worth the money but the place itself is. Beer from Shipwrecked is also available. Wine is good, just need to find your style. The cheaper/sweeter wine is extremely sweet. The higher end wine is very good. Depends what you're looking for, they have it all.
Cool stop on the way north. Lots of history and short tour. We really liked the selection of wine, liquor and different local food. Would stop again, but falls right in line with a lot of the wineries in the area.
The wine tasting is $3 but you get a $3 coupon for a bottle of wine, the distillery is $5 for tastings. The place is very large and they have a wide variety of wines\alcohol
Nice quick stop with lots of door county food and drink products. You can have free samples of all their different wines which is great if you want to know which you like. Huge selection of wines - mostly sweet fruit wines. We did not try the restaurant/cafe.
We physically visit the winery yearly at least. However, this was my first time ordering online. They were offering free shipping during Christmas, and I decided to stock up. I placed my order on the 31st of December, and it arrived yesterday (1/5)! Couldn't believe how quickly! Great wines, great olive oils (will stock up on those next time too), and delicious fudge :) Can't wait for spring to go again!
We've been stopping at this place for, literally, decades and have seen it grow and change over time. 20+ years ago it was more of a novelty--a place to buy some cherry wine to bring home to frineds. Now they have a few bona fide wines. No it's not Napa Valley but you can find a few drier and drinkable vintages here. Not sure what you might like? Then belly up to the bar and taste your way from one end to the other--that's the best part!Recently they added a distillery. At first the "brandies" weren't much to speak about, nor was the vodka. But, a new premium vodka was added, as well as a single-malt whiskey that is outstanding (and priced accordingly). Add in an olive oil bar and array of other stuff to buy, plus a restaurant, and this is definitely worth the visit.
When we first went to Door County this was one of the few and a small winery. It was grown greatly over the last several years and has added a restaurant and more parking. They have great wines and a perfect location. They also offer Fat Louie Olive Oil and various other local items for sale.
Seasonal wines (Halloween and Christmas), cherry wine and a local brandy. Tastings are a fun way to spend a few hours. Tough to get out of there without spending $75 - $100, but it's worth it!
This establishment has expanded since I was last here...glad to see it growing. We did the wine sampling which is great so you know what you like BEFORE you buy. I personally loved the flavored balsamic vinegars & olive oil even better than the wine! Lots & lots of gifts, art, wine, foods to choose from and mostly reasonable pricing. Fun place to spend some leisure time shopping.
My wife and I enjoyed a private wine and distillery tasting and really enjoyed this adventure. The atmosphere was amazing. The wines were incredible (Lighthouse white was both of our favorite). In between wine and liquor samples, we enjoyed jams, butters, salsa, and olive oils. Great experience and I highly recommend it.
Door Peninsula Winery was our favorite out of the five wineries that we visited over the weekend. We like sweet fruit wines so this was perfect for us and our wine rack is full again after visiting Door Peninsula Winery. It was busier than the other wineries that we visited, but there was plenty of room so you didn't feel overly crowded. The lady who served us was knowledgeable of their wines and made recommendations based on our preference. They offer the 4 pack mini bottles of wine in certain flavors which was nice.
