Interesting visit back in time to rural Wisconsin. Visited at Chrismas time when the buildings were decorated (appropriately to the historical setting.) Learned some interesting things, worth a visit.

Thanks for visiting us at Old World Wisconsin! You are right--we love answering our guests' questions. It's such a great chance to share what we do and tailor our experience to their interests. And we also love offering children and adults the opportunities to try some of the same hands-on activities that Wisconsin's original settlers did. Check our website early next year--we're offering even more hands-on fun! Thanks for your post.

Thanks so much for your wonderful review--and for attending two of our Old World Wisconsin Halloween Dinner Theater performances. We're so glad you enjoyed attending them as much as we enjoy hosting them--in our period-appropriate buildings! Watch for new performance/meal experiences during our regular season in 2015!

Thanks for your review and glad you were able to have a Wisconsin homecoming. We're also glad that you had lovely fall weather and welcome you to return with your family. You likely noticed that we have many fun fall, Halloween and Christmas events planned yet this year!

Thanks for the lovely review. We especially enjoyed. "This was a great non-digital and hands on-attraction for the kids who were totally engaged in the attractions and couldn't wait to get to the next village." Forgive us--we're a little old school and delight in seeing families engage in hands-on activities, especially when they don't require a charger. All that, at a little over $2 per person per hour!

Thanks for the great review and rating! Many of our guests are surprised by how very big our site is. We're grateful for the help of our fantastic corps of volunteers who take on many important roles. Our historic buildings are staffed by paid interpretive staff that goes through rigorous training before sharing what we do with guests. Thanks for your suggestion to allow for much time to fully explore Old World Wisconsin. Happy travels!

Thanks for your excellent rating and review. While we love making history fun, you are right--the foundation of everything we share with guests is always based upon authenticity and deep research. Come visit us again when you're in the area--we currently go even a little farther forward in time to 1915, at the Ketola farm.

Thanks for visiting and for your review. We're delighted by your recommendation and your high praise for what we offer. We're glad your grandson enjoyed the experience as much as you. Come visit us again soon! Our final vintage base ball game of the season is September 13.

It's a two hours drive from Chicago and one hour drive from jelly belly retail store. This was the second attraction on our roadtrip from Chicago. We arrived at noon and had enough time to see 70% of the attractions and it can certainly take a whole day.The entrance fees were 41$ for 2 adults and a 7 yo, kids under 5 don't pay.Parking is near the visitor center where there is a small place to eat and also a small gift shop and there is also where you buy tickets. From there you go by trum to all the "stations". The trum goes every 15 min. There are many things to do and see and they are very nice, also the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. My kids loved best the blacksmith ( which is quiet a character), and mowing the lawn and working in the wood workshop in the german farms. The point is that for adults it's great and it's an interactive history museum. For kids, espcially the younger ones it may be a bit boring between the highlites were they get to do things and they may get restless. Maybe things are more exciting in special days when they have extra attractions. One more thing to remember - no food after the visitor center, bring some with you.Overall nice, wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Thanks for your review! We hope you come back and visit us again soon--we have even more hands-on activities like "Life on the Farm" where you can put on wooden barn shoes and help the farmer and farm wife with chores like checking the chicken coop for eggs. And this season we launched "Catch Wheel Fever!" which is an interactive 1890s cycling experience--with reproduction tricycles from the era that you can actually ride. Plus lots more, including many expanded and new special events.

Thanks for visiting and for your review! Our team will be glad to hear it. We're working on the remote snack and meal issue for the future. In the meantime, on select dates (vintage base ball games or the upcoming Gone for a Soldier Weekend August 23-24, for instance) we have food available in sites away from our Clausing Barn Café.
