Be sure to add a day at Road America on your "must see" vacation list. There's so many fun things to do. Not just watching the race...how about zip-lining? Yup, they have that too!

We have been to this track several times. Lovely wooded grounds but not too far from Chicago and Milwaukee. We have been to car and motorcycle nationals and raced vintage motocross on the grounds.Great track food, easy to see the pits, great and plentiful restrooms, lots of parking and grass.Locals are lucky to have this place.

Road America is one of only five road racing courses left in North America and Canada.. It is the fastest of the five and used by International teams seven months of the year around scheduled race events to test race cars and motor cycles for events world wide.Speeds approaching 200 MPH are normal events on a pleasant 'Wisconsin week end at the National Park of Speed. I am there many week ends as I am lucky enough to live one hour away.

So if you like to walk around and look at really cool cars and I mean really cool cards then this is the place for you! You can walk through the paddock area and chat with the owners about their cars. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Bathrooms everywhere you look even though this place is huge. We drove to several places where you can get out of your car and get a closer view of the fast action. For those who cannot get out of your car there are several places I would have driven my grandmother right up to and she could still be a part of the action. The fall colors were out and it was an amazing drive. Don't go for the food unless you love burgers and fries. There is zip lining and go carts. We didn't partake but would on the next trip!

Everything about this facility is top notch. The track is fun for both drivers and spectators and it is constantly improving. There is never a problem finding a parking spot or a great viewing area. The track food is far from what you would expect to find. A great variety of tasty items to choose from. It is extremely well organized but yet so simple to get around wherever you want to go. Be sure to pick your favorite event(s) and never miss a year of spectating. There definitely is something for everyone. Camping is also available on the grounds. Such a beautiful part of WI.

Very good paddock ... pit area larger than some ... super track - longest road race course in North America.

The excitement of the cars racing is great. The roar of the engines, and the speed of the cars, as they go around the long winding track.Take your own seating, with a chair or blanket for the ground. I like picnic style best, but there are bleachers.

We happened to be in town on a race weekend and were given free tickets to attend. It was great place to experience our first race. Track is huge but we had a fun time walking around the track and stopping to watch. Food surprisingly decent.

This was our fifth trip to Road America and it never disappoints. It is so filled with natural beauty and history. My husband's uncle raced here in the 60's. Some new updates since the last time including a zip line and several media screens. Unless you want to stay in one place or LOVE to walk...rent a golf cart.

This year (2014) will be my third year going here for what is now the Tudor United SportsCar series. I have a blast every time I go. I am physically disabled, and for the most part, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was last year when I was charging my mobility scooter at the transporter of one of the teams, a Road America security guard attempted to bully me by yelling at me that I couldn't just "camp out" in the paddock. I don't know what his problem was, because "camping out" in the paddock and watching the crews work on the cars is what many people do. I yelled back at this person that I was charging my scooter and that I had permission from both of the team's owners and the team's manager to be doing what I was doing (and it was the truth--I did have permission from them). After that, the security guard didn't bother me for the rest of the weekend. On a positive note, I highly recommend eating at The Gearbox if you visit the track. Great food! Also, for other disabled people--the facility is very disabled friendly, with a lot of accessible parking and restrooms.

We drove all the way from Washington State to race our car. We had a great time & the people there were really nice & helpful.

Elkhart Lake (Road America Track) is famous for their food. Incredible Johnsonville Brats , homemade pies by "church ladies".The food is always good at Road America. However, the prices seemed to be steeper than normal ($3.50 for a bottle of water), and the service slow. At one of the main stands, over lunch hour, only one of the five windows were open. However, when the food finally came it was good. It's not like we could leave and go home. The restrooms at Road America continue to improve. More restrooms are being built.

The cars that were on display and racing this weekend were the vintage race cars. The venue is perfect for watching the races with large areas of grass and some shade. Of course it is loud so make sure to bring some ear plugs.

One of the best road courses in the world. I love to come here for any kind of racing. Food is the best track food in the USA.

We are not race aficionados so this was a completely new experience for us. I had read the trip advisor reports before we went and was glad I picked up the tips I did. First we lucked out as the weather was beautiful --- high over cast skies, good breeze and mid 70 temps. We followed the advice by heading to the parking area near turns 5,6 ,7 . We walked over to the go kart area (nice walk) and our son took a couple rounds at the go karts. We grabbed a quick brat and burger at the food stand there and sat and watched some of the practice rounds at the bleachers in turn 8 before heading back up toward parking area C. We headed down the stairs to the infield area and spent lots of time walking about and looking at all the cars that were running various practice rounds. Grabbed a quick ice cream cone and headed back up the stairs to our car. We decided to head out to turn 12 (another suggestion by a fellow trip advisor). Very neat turn.....down some stairs with a woods back ground. We brought in some chairs, a cooler with water and snacks, sunscreen and hats. What we really needed and didn't bring was: EAR PLUGS. It was really loud at times and it would have been good to bring those instead of pay a high price buying at the track. This was a great time.....it was the first day of practice runs so there wasn't alot of people there.....we could just wander and sit wherever we wanted for however long we wanted. We'll definitely go back again the next time we're in the area.
