We are very sorry your call was not answered, we would like to know where you purchased the pre- paid ticket, because we have been closed since beginning of November, and whomever sold you the ticket should not have been selling you the ticket if it was after the 9th of november. If you would please contact us by phone we will work something out so you and your family will be able to enjoy your visit to our facility once we are open at no expense!! Again very sorry for the mix up..
My husband and I visited the Big Cat Rescue, just this past October, during our honeymoon and it was AWESOME! You can tell the caretakers truly care about their cats! Not only did we get to see them, but you can also pick whatever cat you want, and give money to feed them a meal, AND actually watch them eat it! That was quite the experience and TOTALLY worth the money! SUPER INEXPENSIVE! If you visit, make sure you buy a cat a meal, and watch them eat it! It's an experience you will never forget! Videos and documentaries showing cats eating and showing there ferocity, does it no justice!
This place was fantastic. The cats were gorgeous and healthy and the staff was awesome. Do the Enrichment Box, its definitely entertaining.
They appear to be well kept and comfortable. very interesting with staff willing and available to answer questions. There is a $10.00 donation but wanted to give more so the Cats could be well provided for. Outdoor attraction mildly rough dirt path with incline.
It's not much to look at when you arrive. Nothing flashy. What you do see is a large fenced in area with many enclosures that border a long circular gravel drive. If mobility is an issue, you can certainly get a good view from your car and you are allowed to drive through. We walked however. Twice actually. The enclosures are decently sized and it looked like all the cats were healthy and well cared for. The staff was friendly, knowledgable and helped our family interact with all willing cats. We purchased the scent box for $15 and it did not disappoint. Initially most cats were sleeping, as that is what cats do. But we went at closing and we followed the lady around as she checked on each of them. It was then we saw the personalities of each beautiful animal and made the experience terrific. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
My husband loves Tigers, so I saw the reviews on Tripadvisor for Big Cat and thought I'd take a chance. The visit to Big Cat Rescue ended up being the highlight of the trip. There are 28 huge cats, ranging from Bengal (orange) tigers to white tigers to black leopards to spotted leopards. Each one has a different story (some sad) but now these animals are all healthy and extremely active. They are active because you can purchase a frozen chicken and choose which one to feed. The cats LOVE it! We stayed and watched 5 different cats get fed and each one has its own unique (and very entertaining) way of hunting down and eating the chickens. We didn't have young kids with us, but the other visitors who did have kids were all smiles and giggles. This is a great visit for anyone who loves animals.
This is an amazing, unexpected venue near the Dells. Incredible views of beautiful big cats! Go in the morning when it is cooler as the cats are more active. We went as a family and all enjoyed every minute we were there! You can buy a "chickencickle" and feed the cats. It is fun to see the cats get excited with anticipation for the treat! This is a must do for anyone with a heart for animals!
Very nice place to see these beautiful cats up close without all the crowds of a zoo. I feel very happy paying the modest fee to know that these animals are cared for and given a happy home.
Our family visited in the morning and while some of the cats were sleeping, this was a truly unique and wonderful experience. They are beautiful and lucky to be in a place where they are loved and cared for. We bought a chicken and a play box for two of the cats. What an experience. I hope through all these reviews, people come out and support this non for profit as these animals need lots of love and care.
We visited in the late morning/early afternoon so the cats weren't very active, but it was still worthwhile to walk through the exhibits and read each cat's story. As others have mentioned, some of the stories are sad, but these cats now have this home and seem to be well loved. I think what the owners are doing is wonderful and definitely deserves our support.
We had the option of doing a night tour instead of they day time one and am glad we choose that. You have to make an appointment to do this and it does cost a bit more.Apon our arrival and checking in we doused ourselves in bug spay and then were handed a flashlight. It was still light when arrived but needed by the time we left. Our tour was just for us.Our guide and owner was very knowlegable on her cats. She told us the cats histories . If you were doing this during the day a plaque to read is in front of each cage .Some came from owners who abused them or just couldn't take care of them, zoos who had too many or circuses .There are young cats and old but will live here in their new home well taken care of and loved. Some of the cats came when call but like small domesticated cats just looked at you. Some romped and played ,well stalked and leaped, when she walked by but in a playful manner.A scratch an the head and all is well. You as a guest are not allowed near the cages. No running or scaring the cats either. These cats are BIG and BEAUTIFUL and well kept and if they should start stalking you they may run into the fence and hurt their noses that are very fragile. What was really amazing is to hear a close up roar .One can not imagine how load it is.This is must see at least once.....
I never realized this place was so close to the Dells. Six of us went for the morning feeding.I had a great time watching and listening to Jeff tell us about each of the cats. So many sad stories-now they have a great home! It's obvious how much Jeff cares for each of his cats and that he knows all their personalities. We are planning to come back for a night visit in September
Tucked in peaceful rural Wisconsin, this place is a jewel. 29 big healthy cats each have their own history posted. Amazing to see them so close and so alive. Definitely recommend this as a change of pace from the Dells. Staff was friendly and informative.
This nice park takes care of abused and neglected big cats. It is not a show but a great place to meet the big cats. Takes about 30 minutes to walk around and every cage has the story (sad) why the big cat is in there. Buy a chicken for 12 dollars and you can feed them! makes the entire park wake up! About 25 tigers, lions and leopards.Financed by you and sponsors. Admission 9 dollars per person but coupons all over - 2 for 1.I really like real "zoos" where the animals are the one cared for, not only visitors. But again, for just 12 dollars you wake up all the cats! Enjoy!
It's not a large place but there are several cats to see. Each has a name and their history posted. I will admit my opinion is a little biased as I love all large cats! I did spend a few hours there
