I grew up less than a half mile from this place and have frequented it hundreds of times. When I was a kid we used to ride bikes and get candy through the pick up window and play video games on the porch. Now it is burgers and beers. The food is good and the atmosphere during the summer is fun with all the tourists and cottage dwellers in the area. It is a good place for a quick informal meal and to enjoy some relaxation.

Best bar burgers I have ever had to this day. My family's cottage is within walking distance to the Sand Bar and is visited every weekend we are up there. My recommendation to all my cottage guests is to get the cheeseburger: HUGE, delicious, and inexpensive. Keep in mind that the bar is cash only but there is an ATM. Friday night there was an hour wait for food. Completely worth it. You wont go wrong with their weekend nightlife either. The bar is always busy for dinner and people hang around to party. The bartenders and servers are great and you will often see the owner behind the bar. I love me some Sand Bar!!!
