Crystal Cave was an unexpected visit for us, as we drove past it and decided to take a look. We ended up with a very fascinating afternoon with a great tour guide, Madeline. She was very knowledgable and patient, answering all our questions. Also our son got to "pan" for gems after the tour. The whole staff was fantastic. Would definitely come again.

An hour long tour was just perfect for the kids, ages 12 to 5. Kids liked seeing all the different size rooms and loved the gift shop!

Really enjoyed our tour. Very educational and our tour guide, Sherri, was great. A definite must see if you are in the area!

This was a very enjoyable and educational hour. I will return with my grandchildren. The tour guide was knowledgeable with just the right amount of humor. The staff in the gift store were friendly and welcoming.

We visited Crystal Cave for the first time over the weekend. Sherri and Melissa were our tour guides, and they were fantastic. They were informative and funny. They also took time to ask and answer a lot of questions during our tour, and they were very patient with our inquisitive son. A few people in our group tried out the gem panning after the tour, and they had a great time. Sherri and Melissa were still with us, and the kids (and adults) had fun talking to them and asking them for help in identifying the gems they found.Lots of fun for the whole family, and I know we'll be back.

I've gone to the Crystal Cave several times over the years and it's fun to visit. The cave itself is interesting with a bunch of different features to see. The cave is fun to explore and I've enjoyed the tour guides. Maybe I've been lucky, but the ones I've had have all seemed interested in their job and the information that they are talking about. My nephew, who's six, loved it and wants to go back immediately! He and my nieces (who were with as well) also enjoyed the gem mining. There is a nice little gift shop on top of the cave, as well, that's fun to look through while waiting for your tour or afterwards.

Our cave experience was awesome. The guides were interesting and informative. The cave was spacious and the stairs and walkways were clearly marked and well lit.The gift shop is identical to every other cave/museum gift shop that I have been to but more reasonably priced. Our 3 year old enjoyed panning for gem stones and the young employees working with the kids were awesome! The only drawback was the limited signage/direction to the cave. We would have turned back with out the GPS!

Had an excellent time, David was our tour guide he was amazing very interactive with the children and other tourist. And after the tour the kids did some mining with our tour guide. And our tour guide was kind enough to take some pictures for us. Awesome place go check it out.

Stopped by the Crystal cave on our way to Wisconsin Dells and it was well worth the trip and $10 entrance fee. I brought my 9 year old son and our group had kids as young as 1 up to grandmas. Everyone had a good time. The guides, Bailey and Amanda, were great- friendly, funny and super knowledgeable about the rocks and history of the cave.Remember, it is really cold in the cave, so bring a jacket and wear jeans and tennis for a more enjoyable visit as the tour is one hour long.I have visited other caves in the past but have had issues with the small, tight entrances and feeling claustrophobic. This was a a perfect way to get to experience cave features in a less intimidating way. Highly recommended!

Our guide, Katie, was very knowledgeable and provided a fun experience for our group. I was most intrigued by the cave formations that seem to defy the laws of gravity. Great learning experience for young and old alike.

I went with a group of fans of the 1980s TV show "Beauty & the Beast." The Tunnels under NYC were a big part of that show and we loved seeing these caves for that reason! There were big spacious chambers and really great winding passageways. I've been to another cave, also called The Crystal Cave, in PA but that one was not nearly as good as this one. They told me there was no relation, that Crystal Cave is just a common name for caves. The one in PA was very open and you could see other groups ahead of you, while this one felt more like you were exploring on your own. The tour guide was also very good and the gift shop was lovely - it was a great trip.

Crystal Cave is roughly 1 hour from St. Paul, MN. The drive is actually quite pretty! The cave tour is approximately 1 hour long. The size of the tour is about 15 people led by 1 guide. Please note that the cave is a constant 50 degrees and can be wet and muddy. The terrain can also be uneven and the climb is approximately 7 gradual stories. Our guide was very imformative and quite witty! This tour is enjoyable for younger as well as older folks. The littlest ones tended to get impatient after a short while. Our 6 year old's patience was tested but the 10 year old was very engaged. Please also beaware that there is the potential for bat sightings while in the cave. We experienced a total of 4. The kids enjoyed the gift shop and had fun panning for gems from the gem bag that was purchased. An area for a picnic is also available.

Traveling from California we stopped by while visiting relatives. We thoroughly enjoyed everything! Very fun and informative one hour tour of the cave -- the highlight for us was the total darkness room. The gift shop was very nice, panning for jems was fun, and there is a really nice picnic area. Great activities for the whole family -- well worth the stop.
